We need more men, 72000 isn't enough. Even tho our soldiers are the best, we need a bigger an better equipped army? Who agrees?

The problem right now is the funding the MoD has we have six theatres instead of the old three but the same funding cut up into 1/6 pieces of pie instead of 1/3 (in a simplistic way of saying it). We used to have LAND AIR SEA with say 2% GDP. Now we have similar levels of spending but we have LAND AIR SEA SPACE AI CYBER. We need a bigger pie just like Tobias Elwood keeps saying.

Hope they train to combat without these advances in tech too, seems pretty obvious it be devastating if cyber attacks could neutralize it

Whoever advance first in the space will have advantage.

One would imagine that Starlink as it comes on line might be part of that digital backbone.

You mean personnel? Japan has double the population. When comparing things like ship displacement and force multiplier UK is way ahead, that includes sovereign military industrial capability.

Yes too small. Not enough men, equipment, formations, ships, aircraft, everything. Like you said, compare with Japan and do some bean counting. MOD is only good for draining money.

Get rid of the computer test if you stubble for the job for infantry regiments and drive,Rlc roles and Medical Corps , should be if you fit and healthy and willing service you country and team work only like the old time just sign up and you in not like now days it a joke and wrong Just save money in the government pocket

We are getting rid of1,000 Infantry soldiers just to make it easier for our enemies we fair like that.

It's not just the army, but the entire armed forces. Need nuclear carriers, need more 5th gen aircraft and even 6th gen prototypes going , need a bomber like the B2/B21, need more destroyers(with real ballistic missile defense) and more QE class as well as submarines. A lot is needed for the future. Basically rejuvenate the armed forces. But the future costs a lot.

Guessing the Taliban already had this technology? Digital platforms all well and good until the hackers arrive.

It won’t just be us tho will it as that’s why we train and serve with other ally countries. I won’t underestimate the Russians tho as I think they are a tough country/force and definitely give a good fight but what I have seen they won’t last and will get smashed by our more advance more supreme technology and more quality and more advance vehicles and advanced trained soldiers. Don’t underestimate Great Britain’s 🇬🇧 military we might be a small country a smaller military but we have more highly trained soldiers more highly advanced technology and weaponry and vehicles on land, sea & air and we can definitely hold our own on the battlefield if needed but then saying that if Russia get help from there allies ie China, North Korea & others etc then that will be another story as then they will have the numbers as China alone have like just over 2.1 million soldiers then combine that with Russia which is roughly just over 1 million then the other allies that they have could be easily say 5 million+ soldiers which then that will be a total different fight on the battlefield & the world. I just won’t underestimate our small country and our British Forces.

True the government cut the defence budget and make it hard to join now there care more if you got math and English computer test if you suitable for the job you don’t need do that join the army if you fitness and health and care about other people and won’t help and services your country and queen it should be yes do a fitness test and ice breaker and past the medical test sign up and you in
