As a Greek, a lot of misinformation was included hear. 1. The buildings on the Acropolis were built after the Persian wars so that's not why it was fortified 2. Pericles was not the head of the construction. Rather, it was an architect who's name I don't remember 3. Not all city states were in the alliance and it's main purpose was not financial but militaristic (like NATO) 4. Sparta was not in the Delian league (it was the leading city in an other league) and the Peloponnesean war started because Athens attacked an ally of Sparta (Corinth)

Sparta was never a member of the Athenian alliance, but the leading power of the Peloponnesian alliance. Sparta was the winner of the war. Athens accepted a humiliating peace treatment , was disarmed and ruled by a 40 member Council appointed by the Spartans.

Firstly its pronounced "Niki" in Hellenic and "Naik" like the company in English Nike as you said its its incorrect at both. Also Spartans didnt start the war because they were jealus and broke but Delian league got turned into an Athenian and they opressed the vast majority of Hellenic world and even commit a couple of Genosides as well.Athenians were criminals at many levels but we like to think about democracy just for the shake of favouritism and not thinking critically.

There is scaffolding for years on the Parthenon and a very complex and complicated task is in the way by scanning and photographing all the small rocks in the area and a computer tries millions of combinations trying to find where every piece could potentially fit. If all combinations are eliminated then sculptors make by hand a piece that fits and it's added on to the puzzle.

This video is wrong on so many levels 1) In Delos was the treasury of the Athenian alliance, not of all the Greek city states 2) Athens did not just borrow the money, it was straight up stealing it from the alliance. 3) The war between Athenean and Spartan alliance happened because they both wanted to rule over all Greece, not because Athens was building structures. 4)Athens eventually lost to Sparta

Probably more likely The citizens worshipped the goddesses in hopes of a successful outcome in the long Peloponnesian War fought against the Spartans and allies.[1] Although they did have to rebuild it after the Persian destroyed the archaic temple that originally stood there. I'm sure it had a double meaning of Victory over their fellow Greek city States and the Persians as well.

He doesn't need to provide evidence. Archaeologists and historians did that a thousand times already, and we have tons of unambiguous evidence, mostly from inscriptions in stone, that proof everything said in the Video. That Pericles was at that time head of the state, that Athens abused it's control over the Delian league's money, and that this money was used to build the building projects of that time on the Acropolis. While there is tons of proof for all this, there is absolutely nothing, not even a tiny bit of evidence, that says otherwise. Now it's your choice if you want to believe what is a proven fact accepted and confirmed by every historian on this world, or rather think that you, someone who has no remotely deep knowledge about the subject, are smarter than all of them.
