Acropolis ATHENS: The Parthenon + Nearby Sights Worth Visiting | GREECE

If you're visiting Athens for the first time, the top must-visit attraction is without a doubt the Acropolis, where the famous temples the Parthenon, Erechtheion/Erechtheum and Athena Nike sit. There are other archaeological ruins at the Acropolis to check out too such as the Theatre of Dionysus, Odeon of Herodes Atticus and of course the Propylaea which you pass through to get to the Parthenon if you're going by the main entrance.
It's definitely worthwhile booking your tickets online and going early plus if you plan on visiting other historical sites around Athens then the combo ticket can save you a bit with entrance tickets.
🎫 We bought our Acropolis tickets from here (not sponsored or affiliated):
📱 We didn't realise when we visited the Acropolis in Athens but there's a free mobile app you can download for an augmented and virtual reality experience. It's called Cosmote Chronos which you can use to enrich your experience at the Acropolis (like seeing the statue of Athena that use to be inside the Parthenon, or what the Parthenon use to look like with colour etc).
▸ play.google.com/store/apps/de...
🥪 Our day started so early that we were still on the breakfast menu when we stumbled across our eatery:
Το καφενείο του Ρίζου (Kafeneio Tou Rizou)
Address: Akamantos 2, Athina 118 51, Greece
goo.gl/maps/Fn9478J2HBRCFzxr8
⭐ Other sites we visited in this Athens vlog:
• Filopappou Hill - for Socrates Prison as well as amazing panoramic views of Athens
• Ancient Agora - where the much less crowded Temple of Hephaestus is located

@PeterandYen I've always loved Jason and the Argonauts. A favourite writer of mine, Tim Severin had a replica of a bronze age galley built and recreated Jason's voyage, getting to modern-day Colchis, Georgia. He then recreated Odysseus' route using the same ship. Mind-blowing 😊

What a dream to visit Athens! You woke up early, and still the line was quite long. It is so incredible to think that these magnificent places were built so long ago. Sounds like the Greeks eat later like we do in Spain, we don't usually serve lunch before 2, 2:30 pm. Love all the historical facts you share guys, Socrates was a brilliant mind to my eyes. The views are astonishing 😍🥰

Breakfast at 8-9 am, mid morning snack at 11, 12pm, (sometimes we have aperitivo: a couple of small tapas before lunch, at around 1:30-2 pm) lunch at 3pm, mid afternoon snack at 6-7pm and dinner 9-10pm I think Spain has the latest hours 😂 you can see people in restaurants finishing dinner by 11:30pm.
