What’s amazing is the fact that Zenitsu is the personification of Lightning and Thunder. When he’s awake he’s loud and noisy like a Thunder storm and his breathing becomes uncontrollable so he can’t fight well. When he’s “asleep”, his breathing becomes steady, he becomes calm, focused, and then strikes like lightning.

although KNY isn't great in narrative writing compared to other animes, the character designs and backstories in this show are holy fking hell, very well made. It's one of the reasons I'm a fan even though at first I thought it was an overrated show. People talk a lot about the animation carrying the show but they don't even notice how well crafted and consistent the characters are. Even Tanjiro is one of the most unique characters unironically. He's neutral, heroic and respectful unlike the typical MC. He's not edgy, he knows his limits yet gives his all which is really great because there is no sudden BS powerup since demon slayers in KNY work together yo defeat a demon. Rengoku is a great character, then Tengen overtakes, then Mitsuri, so on and so forth. You can't tell me otherwise that KNY is unoriginal because these characters are well grounded and artistic

His other forms are weaker? lol no His other forms are not weaker, he was able to fully utilise the other forms as a demon but he didn’t learn form 1. Zenitsu then taught himself a completely different form called seventh form - flaming thunder god. Because this ability is completely unique to zenitsu kaigaku had no knowledge of it or how to defend against it so he got killed.

Zenitsu is very similar to Bart, the pilot, in Vandread. They even have the same hairstyle. Cowardly characters that overcome their fear when it matters remind us that we can do the same.

It should be noted that Zenitsu doesn't get more powerful when he is unconscious, Zenitsu has the skills and techniques to be able to perform the form while he is awake, but his anxiousness about failure makes him unable to do so until finally performing the seventh form with his eyes open
