Yo that animation is so much better than I realized. First she attacks, realizes his defense, goes to break that defense then moves to a next set of attacks realised THAT defense, breaks it and moves for the fatal blow. HOLY COW that is amazing choreography. Thanks a bunch for pointing that out

You could also say Loid got himself into that by ducking her hooks. That upper cut was waiting for him when he ducked that last hook, and he dropped his hands a little to block it. Then she came in with the head kicks again.

Had she not passed out, she probably would've gotten his stomach on his right side, one of his kidneys or a straight spinning back kick to the solar plexus. It's definitely a critical hit, wheather or not it would drop Loid who was trained to take nasty hits im not sure.

Spy x Family is also an action series. More exciting stuff to come. It helps that it's being done by WIT Studio and Cloverworks.

I think her actions were well calculated, from the first kick till the last kick. Every move was to drive her heel into his face. First fast kick : Loid Dodged Break Loid guard, a series of fast kick : Loid Blocked Overwhelmed Loid with a series of hard attack, break his guard again, then finish him with a spin kick. If Yor wore her normal assassin high heels, Loid may face some serious injures... I think the most impressive part was her attack's progression, she was slowly measuring her victim, and picked the right strength to deal with them. The first attack was heavy but easy, then harder, faster in her second attack, then stronger, harder and more well planned in her last attack.

I love how it was very effective storytelling, it lets us know how strong Yor is, we've established how strong loid is already, so this scene puts her strength in an easyly understanble comparaison for the audience. She almost won when drunk, and the only reason he didn't get really injured was because her heel broke. It's very clear, very quickly how skilled and effective she is

The "boom, blocked by loid" was so calm it's icy-hot level🗿

The end killed me when he said "and like all great husband's, did nothing"

Really makes you appreciate the effort put into these characters

@@johnsummit101 the way I see it is that in a planned out endeavor or over a moderate amount of time fighting, Twilight wins hands down. But when you throw some chaos and surprises in the mix, as shown in this scene. Yor would win simply because she would react quick enough before Twilight can pickup on everything going on. Which makes sense since an assassin needs to get the job down quickly and effectively, while a spy is much more cunning and calculated.

Feeling the space > conditioning the opponent > changing the combo ender with different pace > head roundhouse to jumping head kick > guard breaking with that kick Drunk and with ligther bodyweight. Yor is a monster lol

It's still game over for Loid if she didn't go down easily because she will outlast him since Yor could tank everything he'll throw at her.

I bet you also (mistakenly) consider anime as cartoons and fantasy movies as incoherent/illogical. Lack of critical thinking does that to a person. If your attraction is solely limited to very precise human facial recognition, hard-wired into you by evolution, all it shows that you are incapable of forming abstract thoughts/impressions, or that your creativity is lacking. Probably a pretty miserable existence on your simpleton side.

This breakdown is really cool. I really hope we get to see some of her training in like a flashback or something cos whenever she fights its always solid.

I had been waiting for something like this! Thank you so much! This time staff is good at tracing real human action into anime. And especially in this episode 5. Other than this action, I've also found many of Loid's actions are based on parkour when he lands on the ground from a high place, and I assume even the action of "clearing" the enemy is also coming from real... like military action and others.

I cant imagine if Yor really not breaking her heels That punt kick made Loid off guard and off balance which makes an open hit Goodjob Yor, now sleep well😂

Imagine taking hits from a fucking superhuman. Sheesh. I'm impressed by Forger's durability and even more so by Yor's fighting capability even when drunk af. Imagine hitting those shots while your world is spinning.

"Great husband" leaves her on the floor😂

RIP to the animator who animated this scene(Satoshi Iwataki) your work will forever be remembered.

Hats off to the animators for getting the boxing techniques and stances right. Idk if they studied real boxers in the gym for references or just studied video footage from a match, but regardless the choreography in the fight scene looks really clean.
