Terry has absolutely insane core strength, and he is probably much more intelligent than you would assume.
I used to train at the same gym as Terry for years. I have personally seen him rep 365 in the bench and 225 in the hang clean. The last time I saw him in the gym he repped 315 on the incline and 550 in the deadlift in the same workout. He trains fast and does a lot of athletic moves.

I think he squats in them too lol
I’m a huge fan of his. Great dude. It’s pretty obvious after watching the incline, his flat bench is somewhere around the 350 range tops. . Squat would be much less too especially if going to full depth. Probably around 345-360.
Terry Crews such an outstanding individual
My guess is he's benching around at least 360-380lbs for a 1RM maybe 405 on a good day around 525-550 for deadlift and around 400lbs for a squat in his form probably wouldn't get that under proper form though not bad for a man in his 50s though I'm sure 30 year old Terry was a beast. I'm 28 and I can only do 245lbs for 7 reps an 225lbs for 12. I'm 5'11 and 220lbs
@david-pb4bi

Exactly, no chance of him benching 475 if he could only get two reps with 315 on slight incline doubt if he could get 360.
@TDHOFBAMA

@@david-pb4bi I agree your average lifter is weaker on a incline bench than a flat so his flat could be much higher but there's no way he could get close to 475.

With all respect. Been loving your videos lately. I can tell your a Brit. The Washington Redskins are from the District of Columbia or Washington DC. The location of the US Capital. It’s in Maryland. It’s weird, I know, and it’s totally fine not knowing and this video isn’t about that. It’s just watching this and seeing the Redskins helmet coming from the state of Washington was funny to me. The pin should have been placed near, but to the south west a bit of the Philadelphia pin. I mean no offense. Washington DC is a very strange concept and I completely understand how this mistake can be made. Love your videos and your analysis.

How dare you forget his role as President Dwayne Mountain Dew Camacho in Idiocracy.
Squat-maybe 4 plates? Maybe 3 plate incline for 1 without the wraps, about 550 deadlift. With some proper training and technique improvement as well as programming he could probably add 100lbs to each lift would be my guess
The more I lift. The more I want to lift
Love this video! Do you ever consider using the conversion charts from reps to 1rpm? I.e. His theoretical deadlift 1RM, his most legit looking lift would be expected to be about 530lbs, based on a conversion chart.
@StrengthUniverse
Жыл бұрын
There are approximately 8 different formulas for calculating 1RM and I use one that uses an average of all 8 but these are always just theoretical and only realistically work for sets of less than 8 reps that were taken to failure. There are many other factors that they do not take into account for example Terry's footwear.
I’d say his breakout role was as Damon in Friday After Next in 2002.
not washington state, washington dc....LOL
Theres no way he can do a decent squat at 225kg after seeing that 140kg for 5. I do 140kg for 20 reps and i still struggle with 220kg.

If you want , you should make a video about eugenios slidis (guiness record in dips) 🇬🇷
@StrengthUniverse
Жыл бұрын
Eugenios is an incredible athlete but Guinness World Record is not well respected in the lifting community due to their specific lack of knowledge in strength sports that has caused them to incorrectly issue World Records on numerous occasions. An example of this is clear even in Eugenious WR; all street lifting (calisthenics) world records should have weight classes or as a minimum list the bodyweight of the athlete which Guinness do not. Mathew Zlat has official world records under various federations with dips of 175kg and 190kg and unlike Guinness they take into account the weight of the athlete which is very important.

How Strong is THE ULTIMATE WARRIR?
hard to say if he really is deadlifting that, so many actors like him add a fake 45 plate or 2 on the side, so they still deadlift 315 or even 405 but it always just looks way more amazing and realistic of course because it still is hard nonetheless.

You simply widen your foot stance ,sit back,break at the hips and squat to incrementally lower boxes. You'd think a pro NFL player would figure this out. Unless he's completely overrated 🤔
@a-a-rondavis9438
Жыл бұрын
@@ThePitPony NFL and strength technique don't go together. He would need an assertive strength coach. He could probably switch to low-bar or ATG high bar to get depth. Long legs and short torso is just an excuse to do half-squats.
@ThePitPony
Жыл бұрын
@@a-a-rondavis9438 personally I don't think he has a clue what he's doing. He doesn't have to because there's millions of equally clueless people who mistake being famous with actually having ability at a tenuously linked activity ( lifting weights)to the one he actually was good at ( Football).
Was his bench at 45 degrees for that incline press? I see so many people taking their bench up one notch from horizontal and then calling it an 'incline bench press'. Terry's wasn't quite that extreme but it didn't look like 45 degrees. Still very impressive but IMO the most impressive of these were the claimed 30 pull ups. I don't see many guys Terry's size coming anywhere close to that.
@MRmOnThER322
Жыл бұрын
15 to 30 degrees is the most efficient way to incline bench (30 degrees for me). 45 degrees just uses the anterior deltoid too much.
@nbaldwin45
Жыл бұрын
@@MRmOnThER322 isn’t that the point of incline press though? Use the pecs AND anterior delt? Each to their own though, I guess. I just think if you’re using a 15 degree incline, you may as well just do flat bench
@MRmOnThER322
Жыл бұрын
@@nbaldwin45 No, the point of incline bench is to focus the clavicular head of the pectoralis majoris (the upper chest). Anterior delt work is just a consecuence of the angle, doing it at 45 degrees ends up splitting the focus to the deltoids even more, a little incline is enough. Personally I prefer 30 degrees, but studies show that 15 degrees work as well. This doesn't mean that you can't develop a good upper chest by doing it at 45 degrees, it is just less efficient.
