Kratos wasn't having issue punching Heimdal. He was being cautious and testing Heimdal's reaction speed. With each stun, Kratos' combo gets tighter and faster, by the third stun, Kratos knows what combo to use to get a hit in on Heimdal. Heimdal blocked in the second combo. Kratos catches the block in the third and strikes at Heimdal, who barely manages to move his head for it to be a glancing blow rather than a straight blow. Kratos has fought speedster before and knew how to deal with them. Heimdal also isn't that strong. He specifically uses Bifrost in his attacks because the Bifrost status effect builds up, then detonates upon a second strike

The only reason kratos is able to land a blow is because of the spear stunning and overloading heimdall senses and each stun causes heimdal to lose focus and become desperate added the fact that kratos blank his heart and mind heimdall literally can't use two of his most powerful ability and yet he is able to give him a good fight without the spear that kratos even called "their best chance" overloading heimdall senses and destroying his focus I doubt kratos would find a way to land a hit before heimdall defeat him

Heimdall is probably my favorite character because he's written so well. They make his personality something that goes along with his ability. He sees almost everything about you and talks down on you to make you angry. Using all your thoughts against you. Then I think about how he's Odin's left hand man even though I feel like he should've been his main defender. It makes it a cool concept either way. You see your enemy and one of their allies is Heimdall. Someone who sees through you and pushes you away from Odin. I think he was the most deadly. If he had any help I'm sure he would win every fight. He would literally be the perfect partner because he knows you and the enemy. Everything would come into place with his help

Not regeneration at all. He didn't regrow legitimate replacement limbs. He used light to create makeshift limbs that can get the job done... but require constant energy expenditure to maintain. They are basically crutches. If a 1 armed man wore a prosthetic arm.... he didn't "regenerate" a new arm. It's a temporary tool that can keep Heimdall fighting, but he's still disabled.

It makes me wonder what kind of drunken brawls happened between Thor, Baldur, and Heimdall. Thor does still seem like the strongest and has the advantage over the other 2. Baldur may now feel pain or die, but he could still be incapacitated. I’m sure Thor would’ve have done more than snap his neck. We know Thor could make Heimdall stand down. I figure he might be fast but not lightning fast. Mind reading and anticipation are really effective if the guy is just unleashing a massive area of lightning he’s not aiming. Baldur vs Heimdall seems like it’d just be a boring stalemate

One of the theories I have when heimdall gets himself hit is because out of every opponent he had faced during his time, he was fighting someone he had only known through legends and baldur's recent passing. He was definitely fighting someone he underestimated but I liked the idea that despite his arrogance he caused himself his own downfall because of a lingering doubt he had brought upon himself when this particular God was not holding any grim intention before and after he was hit yet we definitely know that he had his mind changed at the second where he mentions going after atreus.

Heimdall,with the correct training, couldve been one of the most powerful deities in the entire GOW history. he chose to stay close and comfortable with odin instead and grow his arrogance.

I, for one, loved heimdall's character. He's the perfect representation of how a normal person would act with that power. If you knew what ppl were thinking and could see their intentions and you saw that most ppl are genuinely shitty, self centered, entitled, etc., you'd be a dick to everyone.

Heimdall would be a beast if he had good threats,since no one has even hit him, he thinks he is the sh1t,that's why it seemed easy to kill Heimdall because he doesn't know what to do under stress

Heimdall’s foresight ability is like mixed between a ‘sharingan’ and a ‘byakugan’ from the Naruto series. It gives him the reflexes of a sharingan and the 360 view of a byakugan.

Hermes was fast but couldn't predict movement and intent. Basically he is a better version of Hermes because of this

At least in Heimdall's POV. The spear did give Kratos an advantage but Kratos emptying his head did the trick.

So if Kratos theoretically did have the blade of Olympus even tho that's impossible because the magic on the sword wouldn't work because Greece was destroyed and Kratos says that he can't use his magic because Greece is gone but you wouldn't know that because you didn't play the game. So yes lets say he does have the blade all Heimdall needs to do is activate realm shift to slow down time and Kratos would have no way of actually hitting Heimdall with his magic. You'd also know if you play the game that Heimdall has access to the bifrost and can manipulate it. So he could just send Kratos and his sword away if he so pleased.

If you swing at Heimdall enough, Mimir tells you that you had the spear made for a reason. Heimdall literally says that Kratos was getting frustrated. Another common thing that people saw is "But Kratos can eventually just outspeed Heimdall" but that is false because if you try to use spartan rage, Heimdall dodges every single punch.

yep, or fighting with your instinct. Heimdall asked kratos "What is inside that empty head?" implying that he couldn't see Kratos' intention. Plus, even if Draupnir did the trick, it would've been useless if Heimdall knew what Kratos was planning to do. So sensory overload or fighting with your instinct can do the trick vs Heimdall and Kratos did both. And maybe moving faster than he can dodge.

i think its a good representation of the comment from mike tyson. everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. kratos first threw haymakers. then connected with faster punches. himedal only expected more haymakers. causing himedal to secretly panic. he wasn't expecting kratos on the punch that landed. i watched a breakdown of the fight scene.

Heimdall and Hermes would be bros for life if they ever met

I genuinely think he knew he had to die there. He wasn't even trying his best to bring Kratos down, but wanted to give him at least some kind of challenge.

This boss fight was easier than expected for sure, very similar to Hermes

Man had the best outfit in the game

His powers and abilities are incredibly overpowered.

It would been even better if heimdall appears after defeating odin, when we thought he died

I liked this character alot in the game haha he was a fun character. But when you finally fight him as Kratos it was a bit underwhleming, especially after fights against Berserkers haha. All the main quest boss fights just become too easy compared to those.

I'm sure Heimdall would have had a better chance if he didn't play the bitch. Kratos takes everyone seriously and doesn't overestimate himself, which is why he always wins.

because he has the power of foresight, it has allowed him to be a bully, cuz he's never had a smack to the head to make him get back in line

idk who else has talked about this but heimdall is also immune to realm shift abilities being used against him which i thought was pretty cool

It would be much more satisfying if Kratos just bashed Heimdall's head and beat him to pulp and gouge his eyes similar to what he did to Poseidon But he has matured and gotten a hold of his nature so I think it's fine

I just LOVED the parts in the fight when Kratos swings at him and he just WEAVE WEAVE WEAVE WEAVE I hate the mf with a passion but I couldn't deny that whenever he dodged or caught something it was done cleanly
