    If they tie you should go based on speed (direct translation to power) maybe? Also for different weights you could use the theoretical 1RM multiplier to calculate how sets would potentially calculate to a 1RM to differentiate the ties

  • @StrengthUniverse

    @StrengthUniverse

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi, I already calculate the total working output to workout who wins when different weights are involved but such methods do not calculate for difference in form or assistive equipment such as wraps which is very important. Sometimes speed can translate to power but not always as it can also invoke the use of a higher amount of momentum.

    Straps would make a difference if they both did overhand grips but since Larry is using an alternating grip on the deadlift it evens out.

    The only problem I have with this video is the bad conversions of weights, for example at 4:13 for seated overhead press there is a 15lbs difference in weight but a 6kg difference, but for incline bench there is a 15lbs difference with only a 2kg difference which then later changes to a 7kg difference but that’s still more than the original 6kg=15lbs. So I’m not sure if these numbers are correct.

  • @StrengthUniverse

    The numbers are correct, it's simply how the decimal places are rounded

    @@StrengthUniverse ok, I can get that to some degree. But a kg is over 2lbs so 6kg should never round to the same number unless you’re rounding past the decimals. And I assume the thing at 4:13 was a typo.

    Well you said Larry wore the elbow wraps and had better range of motion then big boy so because the advantage the win goes to Larry so the win should also go to big boy for using the straps he chose to use those and won on the last comparison simple to me can’t be one sided
