I feel like in general, not even in terms of speed running but just the game itself, luncheon is by far my least favorite kingdom 😂everytime I replay the game, I dread playing luncheon lol

That's something not explained here, but where the paintings lead is completely dependent on your savefile and which kingdoms you chose at the splits. In Fir's demonstration Metro's painting goes to Lake since the game thinks you visited Wooded first (I can't explain why that is, but my guess is how the kingdoms are ordered naturally in the code)

Yeah, the game's default order is Wooded first, as you can tell from Peach's dialogue in the post game moons. Since you will have visited neither kingdom, the game reads it in that order and so Metro leads to Lake instead of Wooded

well if you go to lake before wooded, the painting will instead lead to sand. the luncheon painting will be in the kingdom you didn't pick, so you'll still have to beat the one you chose before you can get the painting.

You can’t do that with the later updates, there’s an invisible force field around the luncheon island.

That is wild. Im trying to figure out how you guys are able to jump on cappy twice in a jump. The jump where you do triple jump, jump on cappy and then I see people able to throw cappy and jump off it again but whenever I try, it doesn't let me. The only time I can double jump on cappy is if I start off by throwing cappy, jump onto it to do that Cappy flip jump, throw cappy, jump on it. But If I try to throw him again i can't.

Actually it wouldn’t. If you beat sand, then went to lake first, the painting in lake would be for the floating pyramid in sand kingdom, instead of luncheon. You would have to beat wooded first, or beat lake first and then get world peace in wooded, both of those options are much slower
