How Some Of The World’s Famous Hackers Got Caught
In this video, we’ll show you how some of the world’s famous hackers got caught (simply because they didn’t follow the most basic cyber security protocols). In particular, we cover the case of Jeremy Hammond, whose weak password landed him ten years in prison.
You’ll also learn just how much of your personal data is stored within one photo - and what you can do about it.
Plus, we’ll show you why you should never leave your laptop unattended.
Enjoy!

Atrocious how wormer goes to jail and all those cops who covered their badges before beating up people walk free...
@SapioiT

It makes me wonder how much would be enough to make the people who were harmed in such events to cause the kinds of tragedies terrorists do. I mean, it seems to me the police, or at least the intelligence agencies, are trying to test out exactly that, through each action taken because of them or not because of them. And the saddest part is that such actions are so viral that 2-3 such events happening in a row could cause a level of domestic terrorism rarely seen by the west, and it would be perfectly justified, even if illegal. In fact, the whole plandemic might be exactly what prevented such a thing from happening, all things considered.

@@SapioiT Thank god I'm living in a civilized Country, where Policemen actually need to have proper training, where Policemen will draw Weapons ONLY as a LAST Resort, when anything else fails, where you can simply live your fucking life without having to fear to get Shot, when you see a Police Car and have the "wrong" Skin Color. There has been Police Violence here as well, especially on Demonstrations. And everytime it happens, there will be a big outcry. Rightfully so. But I gotta say, the worst Police Behaviour we might see here, is fairly standard pracitce over there. I was on Vaccation in the US once for 2 weeks, and got threatened with a fucking Gun. Needless to say, I was unarmed and whiter then a slice of Bread. If any Policemen here would point a Gun to a Person, you can be sure AF they'd loose their Jobs immeditaly, if they didn't have a damn fucking good Reason to point a gun.

In a previous video I've gushed about your production quality but now I want to share my appreciation for your focus on educational content instead of manipulating us into buying something. It is so refreshing to see a channel that doesn't push sponsored products. Man, even your description box puts content that's actually relevant to the video at the very top instead of plugging affiliated links, sponsorship, your other uploads, etc. This really gives your channel a lot of credibility. I also appreciate that you don't hide the fact that you're a company but at the same time you avoid advertising your services. You respect your viewers enough to allow *their* curiosity and interests determine whether or not they want to learn more about Sumsub. Please continue your amazing work; you're providing such valuable information *and* setting an amazing example for other KZreadrs.

@@Sumsubcom Yeah you made many mistakes in this video, the main topic about exif data being one of them. You don't need a tool to remove exif data. No social media sites/forums share exif data. It is common practice to scrape all exif data for privacy reasons. This isn't 2016. Check your pronunciation on pwned also, that was hilarious the way you pronounced it. You're 100% larping as an intellect. Maybe noobs will enjoy your videos but they are viscerally cringe inducing to those who understand the topic you're trying to explain.

Facebook and Instagram actually strip EXIF data from images, copy it to their their own private database, and replace it with custom hashes or something. Otherwise, most Facebook/Instagram pages would be broadcasting exact location data of the owner.

Great work.
I feel like the last story of Dread Pirate Roberts had a lot left out. The FBI knew he was logged onto the Silk Road because they had convinced someone he was close to to work for them, allowing them to know when he was logged in. Not only that, but how they discovered who they needed to catch was because he used the same account names when advertising the silk road as well as asking for technical expertise about anonymous transfer of money. All in all though, great content, but sucks that so much was left out.

Honestly, hacking the government is a stupid idea. They have lots of options and you can't decrease your risk enough.

wormer actually knew about the data hidden behind the photo, he deleted the data of every single photo except for one (he forgot) and that's how he was caught.
I think metadata is stripped off when posting it to social media, at least any halfway decent social media platform does that
Few things: Ulbrecht’s handle was dRead (with an R) Pirate Roberts, and Silk Road was one of the first big dark markets, but Alpha Bay was the biggest (thus far) No biggie, just pointing it out!
Way too underrated hope you blow up soon
