This is nothing new. When I was in highschool there was only Nike & Adidas All American camps. AAU was the same way. I played under Adidas and we didn't really play in Nike events. The Adidas Big Time AAU tournament was in Vegas and there were no Nike teams

All this means is that the performance in these shoes from all these brands make no difference in your game, if Gil's daughter can't wear her Kobe's but had to wear Westbrooks. These are supposedly 2 different feeling and profile (profile meaning one is closer to the ground then the other. One weighs more than the other, etc) shoes. If a parent goes to a store with their child to get a pair of shoes to play in, chances are that child tries on a bunch of different shoes to see which one fits and feels the best. Once that child finds something that they like and fits properly, that should be it. If these skilled children start boycotting games if they have to constantly play in kicks that don"t serve them well, especially if is from the same brand. That Kobe/Westbrook thing is nutz.

a shoe is a shoe at the end of the day, but that doesn't take away from the fact that players still prefer how certain stuff feels on their feet as well. i get why they force kids to wear certain products because of branding, but at the same time they'd get the best out of their kids by allowing them to play in what feels most comfortable to them as well.

Being a coach as an Independent program who have beat Nike Teams this summer, Adidas, and Puma. It’s not that easy… Plus all they do is just hit my kids asking them to play for them. Hopefully next year we can get on a shoe circuit somehow. Plus not many coaches come to independent showcasing during live period and Shoe circuit teams usually don’t come to independent tourneys either but Made Hoops makes it possible sometimes

I just checked and the last Olympic team had guys sponsored by Nike, Jordan Brand adidas, and converse. Guys don’t participate because the Olympics are not that important to us basketball wise as it is to other countries. It’s only when we lose do guys cape up and play.

This is nonsense. In football, for example, Messi is an Adidas player yet he represented Barcelona, which is a Nike sponsored team for well nearly a decade and a half. The say could be said about Cristiano, who is a Nike player but was with Real Madrid, which is sponsored by Adidas. This also happens with the national teams, plenty of players are represented by one brand and their national team with another. For example, Neymar is now with Puma but yet Brazil is with Nike. And football is MUCH bigger than basketball.

This is why Team USA Basketball is in decline. Politics is always at the forefront of everything when it comes to American. Almost everything is being run like our corrupt and failing government.

Here's the thing though, I agree with them that these teams sponsored by brands SHOULD play their hearts out. The only thing they can dictate me to do is what shoes to wear, UNLESS the shoes suck in terms of it's making my feet bleed (remember when MJ wore the Jordan 1s and he bled), it hurts my feet, or it blows out of my foot (like the one with Zion). But yeah, that's fine by me so long as you keep giving me free stuff. Remember shoes aren't cheap nowadays, they are about as expensive as diamonds (just an expression as to how expensive they are) that it's ridiculous. And not all these kids are living leisurely, remember most of these kids play ball to "get out of the neighborhood" or something like that. You know those NBA player documentaries usually start that way
