HOW Similar Are Chinese and Japanese?
Bonjour! Have you ever wondered if #Chinese & #Japanese are linguistically related? Well, spoiler... they aren't. However, are they similar in any way? 皆さん、日本語と中国語はどれくらい似ているか、ご存知ですか?日本語と中国語は全然違う語族に属しているのですが、日本語は漢語から大きな影響を受けました。

Again, very interesting video. This is a very pragmatic way to present the influence of Chinese on Japanese. Keep it up!

J'ai moi aussi été surprise de constater que les deux langues sont plus similaires qu'il n'y paraît au premier abord :) Même si elles n'appartiennent pas à la même famille linguistique.
Japanese do have a significant influence on modern Chinese. A significant amount of modern Chinese terms are loanwords from Japanese. There is a paper by Chen Haijing from University of Oslo on the web that has a very detailed study.

@@nofridaynightplans Ohh, my mistake then. The books in the background are out of focus and I thought it's One Piece. They look really similar :)

No problem at all :) The ones you are referring to may be 'City Hunter'. I'm a big fan of Hojo-san's work ^0^
Two are very different despite few similarities. From different linguistic families

Yes, that’s correct but we can go beyond just this basic fact. That’s what the video is about.
