I grew up watching NASCAR in the early to mid 2000's and knew about the side draft, but nobody has ever explained how it works. Great work.

It's neat to see this happen so aggressively in Supercars compared to other series.

Very interesting information of aerodynamics and drafted of Supercars Championship. In NASCAR from America, only Tri-Oval of Daytona & Talladega getting need bump draft, 2, 3 or more stock car makes contact bumper by bumper for need speed more 200 MPH, only a restricted plate can reduce excessive 200 MPH like what horrifying near-fatal crash on May 1987 when Bobby Allison blew rear right tire, goes airborne and crash against fence at 207 MPH.

I’ve felt this in real life at Monza when I was racing in Porsche Supercup. I genuinely felt my car slow and get pulled backwards as someone got a side draft from me. Felt the RPM drop and everything. It’s SO strong and a great tool to use.

Just recently getting into v8 supercars. I love this stuff! Easily my favorite racing series. Just awesome stuff. Makes me wish I was from au so I could really enjoy the HSVs and FPVs. Considering getting our Pontiac G8/ Chevy SS and giving my best crack at a conversion. God did the states miss out. And I love Larko! This is really interesting stuff.

U$A checking in if I may. Couple things Larko: Since carburetor restrictor plates became a thing back in the late 80's Nascar does NOT do 220 mph, anywhere. Now-a-days, with fuel injection & 'speedway packages' at superspeedways, engines are capped at 550 hp, along with other top-speed & roll-over limiting enhancements. Top speed at superspeedways [Daytona, Talladega, Michigan] is 195-ish. Thing #2: 'Nascar side-drafting' packs the WHEEL-WELL with air off of the opposing car's nose. Nascar doesn't even have rear wings! If AV8SC wings or Nascar spoilers induced side-draft air packing you would see a dramatic speed differential as soon as the nose got next to the opposing spoiler. We do NOT see that here, or in Nascar. So, to much greater degree than rear wings or spoilers, it is more-over the rear wheel-wells that cause the side-draft aero-phenomena.

Larko can annoy me sometimes lol but he really helps me understand it on a deeper level where most other series don’t do this kind of stuff
