How Scarlett stunned Bomber in one of StarCraft's greatest series

Ойындар

Sometimes, great moments are not born from a perfectly-executed display of skill between two great players, but from a singular well-timed blow in what could otherwise be described as a slugfest.
Other times, those moments are created when a player bucks the norm and decides to play their way, instead of the established, so-called best way.
But in a few cases, it’s both. And we saw a perfect example in StarCraft II, when Scarlett and Bomber faced off at Red Bull Battlegrounds NYC in 2013.

Disappointing that the final baneling detonation to win the game was not shown more clearly. We didn't get to see Scarlet select the few banelings from the running pack of units and burrow them just before they came into the vision of Bomber. It was a crazy play that was the apex of the game but the video editing completely missed the opportunity to show it. What a shame.

I thought the same thing. It's like they're focusing on the lesser of the two burrowed bane hits, without showing the actual game ending mega hit. Weird.

I really do think that was the point of not showing us the setup, so we as viewers share in the shock. I do think they should have replayed that last blast in multiple perspectives though, not just the crowd screen in poor quality. Not sure why they just replayed the first one.

Starcraft 2 is kinda Sim city, but you have to spend your money into an army and you have an opponent. You gotta evolve at the same speed as your opponent or you're gonna get overwhelmed economically. The more money you have (more bases) the stronger army you're gonna get. You need to kill all opponent's buildings or make your opponent leave the game to win.

I knew the second I saw the video title in my feed EXACTLY the moment it referred to, the ramp pointing downwards to the southwest, full of marines, the game, the series, the tournament - it's imprinted upon my memory. I was watching live for this tournie - two of my all-time favorite players - and it's one of my favorite moments in all of StarCraft history without hesitation. The spine-chilling hype of that series and in particular, that one moment, cannot be fully captured looking backwards - it was lightning in a bottle. Truly great, great StarCraft

Agreed with Dustin. You should have also included Day[9]'s cast when Bomber used up his remaining minerals and lifted up all of his buildings. He really invoked the tension with "FINAL PUSH ... this is the final push from Bomber, Scarlett needs to hold on for ONE.... FINAL... ATTACK!" This line sent chills to my spine then the unthinkable happened: Scarlett has no time and space to burrow banelings so she ran away then did the clutch burrow split second before bomber's sight gets in range then the ultimate detonation that will ring half a decade later happened. One of the best matches of all time.

Whats there not to understand? You use the resources to build buildings and miners and use miners to mine to build even more buildings and miners and use buildings to build attacking units to destroy enemy buildings miners and units. Simple. As for understanding the meta it changes all the time not even pro players fully understand it at any given point. Each time you think the meta settles somebody comes up with some insane build out of nowhere. And when it really does blizz comes and changes some units a bit and everything starts from scratch. Its good time to be alive.

Now I want to see the entire series. Scarlett's control of banelings is incredible. Marine micro is really difficult, but they don't have to worry about the friendly-fire melee-range attack of exploding baneling splash damage. I think banelings are one of the most difficult units to micro. Hats off.

You can not really classify Scarlett as the best female in E-Sports. There are many different E-Sports out there that require different skills and mentalities in order to be the best. I am unsure if Scarlett plays in any other E-Sports but if "she" were to play a FPS game "she" would be destoryed by the top female in that game. Also "she" has the skills and menality closer to that of man than normal females do. So in my opinion depending on what your original gender was should be where you are placed in rankings. In the case of Scarlett "she" should be ranked with men not women.
