Disclaimer: Since I am judging from a video, scores may differ from the actual competition because some things look different when you watch live vs on video.

I had no idea judges have to write the scores this way. I don't know, I always thought the gymasts provided a list of their expected routine and they just had to check whether the elements and combinations were actually performed or not. I wonder how much one has to practice to memorize all the values and weird symbols?

you don’t get deductions for elements not performed, you just lose bonus points.

That dismount was insane! Beautiful beam performance. I really like watching the shorthand coding for these things. Keep the videos coming!

Shouldn't double turn (D) + split leap (B) get an extra 0.1 connection value?

Yes it should've I think. She also gave her CV for the A + D turn combo and I thought that turn combo's only get credit when performed in C + A or more combination but IDK. The CV on that combo always confuses me.

@@roanjorna4698 no she was right, D+B when both are dance or both are acro do not get connection bonus. Turns are the exception, because like you said, you can connect C+A or higher when both are turns and get 0.1

Why didn't you write down the scale? I know it's just an A but ultimately can't it count for something (for instance, if the gymnast doesn't include enough of the harder dance skills for whatever reason).

scale must be held for 2 seconds at 180º to be counted as an A skill :)

Wow. She did not get any connection bonus for the first three elements. This cycle has been even harsher.
