Amazing and educational video, thank you. I grew up near the American river in a suburb of Sacramento, Ca. One of the main roads to school was Sunrise blvd. There was a bridge one had to cross the American river. Every spring almost to an exact date, these salmon swam upstream in fresh water to fertilize eggs. It is a beautiful act of nature to watch. ❤

But the subtitles are too quick for younger readers, and the subtitles in general detract from the otherwise high quality video (the viewer needs to speed at least 50% of their time reading instead of enjoying the video). Audio narration as well would have been awesome (just not computer generated audio)

this are some errors in evolution. these fishes never learn and still follow the path to valhalla its a meat grinder fighting like gladiator, surviving,no feeding, all dedicated to perish for a task. doesnt resemble evolution at all

It does because so many die off and don't reproduce. The ones that make it do and their genes carry on, with the adult fish again having more chance of making it.

If it follows the law of energy conservation which is natural for evolution it wouldn't do anything like that it will just pivoted and stay in the ocean making more babies
