How’s it to record Shreya Ghoshal? ‘Jeevamshamayi’ recording session.
How was the experience working with Shreya Ghoshal? A question that I hear the most since 2018. It excites me always & I keep on talking about the wonderful experience knowing & recording her.
3 hrs of continuous recording without even a single break, giving unlimited number of takes, improvisations you never even imagined in your wildest thoughts, the passion, dedication & commitment to make it perfect, to take it to the next level was something special to watch. It was my debut movie, but still she treated me with utmost humbleness. At one point during the recording, you can hear her appreciating singer Gayathri Ashokan too. Something we all have to learn from the legends like Shreya Ghoshal, K.S.Chitra, A.R.Rahman, Sachin Tendulkar etc. I then felt, any aspiring singer who could watch her recording session could perform hundred times better than what they could do now. I was even thinking that I should take along one such highly talented singer along with me everytime I go to record her from then on. I would say he/she is my assistant incase she ask who this is. During this lockdown, as we all got enough & more time to ‘think’ , suddenly this idea popped up. Why should I limit it to one person. Why not share the raw footage of the recording session with everyone so that it could be inspiring for many. So here is the vastly edited footage of the 3hr recording session of ‘Jeevamshamayi’ with Shreya Ghoshal, which happened at singer Kailash Kher’s studio in Mumbai. I hope you’ll love it. Do share your thoughts too.

First they got a chance to listen to the same song by playback singer., if once they like it they don’t mind to sing for the track for new comer or top composer the top singers gets paid top money anyway., she in fact doing no favor to debut composer she doing favor for herself she knew the song is nice and getting paid for her skill., anyway she is most respected and skillful singer in modern era
She is so quick to understand and make adjustments! These top singers are geniuses! Thanks for a peek into this world..

She's d no.1 singer in India.. see here is an example : currently Arijit no.1 singer in bollywood but in tamil, Telugu Sid Srirram is no.1 and on the other hand Vijay yusudus no.1 singer in Malayalam!! But Shreya ghoshal is the only Indian singer who equally ruling in every States.. be it bollywood, tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, kanada, etc.. i hope now you'll understand what is the difference between an Indian Singer or a just a bollywood singer!! She is not " intoxicated" by the glories crowned upon her..... just passionate about everything centered around MUSIC....makes her very lovable..... Many talents have vanished into No where....as they were too proud & haughty..... very few have survived & very few" Celebrated" .... because they were very HUMBLE....in various fields..... Its very rare of a celebrity to welcome & appreciate" Debutant"..... Shreya Ghoshal seems to be one..... lovely gesture....

she rights down the lyrics in English...I think tht helps. he music director or lyricist recites the lyrics and she writes it down in Bengali or english idk but I think tht is what helps a lot in the pronunciation and accent

She also pronounces the letter “zha” in தமிழ்/ തമിഴ് well which is problematic for most Tamilians but she does it effortlessly. A truly gifted artist.

Malayalam language has more consonents and conjunct consonenents than other languages. Which is difficult for other peoples to pronounce . But she does it.

@@batuk1992 toughest to those who are not used to ..some words like zha,nja etc are not so commonly used in other languages..so its a bit tough to pronounce those words fluently for them..and no one can change these words just to make it easy for all..No one purposefully made it tough..
Her simplicity and down to earth character is one of the reasons that she is a miracle
The humblest , simplest and 0 attitude plus 2000% talent person i have ever seen. We all should learn from her how to appreciate others even if u r best in your field...... How much ever i say, praises r really less for her...... She deserves everything.......

By listening her sing songs of different languages live and that too she sings so perfectly.. it feels like Goddess Saraswati is singing through Shreya Ghoshal. God bless her.
For people who don’t know Bengali - The pronunciation of words is not like how they are written. The “a” sounds become “o” and “v” “b” are pronounced as “b”. So it’s extra difficult for a Bengali person to get the pronunciation correct. It’s because of her classical training everything becomes easier.

Its not an easy thing to pick up another language specially Malayalam,even though I am malayalee born and brought up in North India,but very difficult to sing Malayalam because the pronounciation is difficult,but Shreya took this song to another level how simple she pronounced each and every word, she wants it perfectly well From her side not from music director point of view, that's what we called the gem,if Mr. Kailash have took another singer Also then maybe I wouldn't have listen this song the feel she gave is marvelous ,she is my favourite third singer From north after my God Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik

I like the way you'll respect the Singer and are not overtly friendly and very professional. Unlike the bollywood culture.
She has the most beautiful voice in the world.
Her Marathi singing is so impeccable that even I being a native Marathi speaker could just listen to her and can't believe she doesn't speak the language!!😊

lata mangeshkar can only sing in hindi. when it comes to souh indian languages, sreya goshal is the only singer from the north can sing perfectly. but the case with southindian singers is different. be it SPB sir, KJ esudas sir, KS chitra or S janaki have good command in hindi.
She is a versatile perfectionist
No words to express. God's gift to her and she is down to earth as well. So soothing for ears as well.

undoubtedly SHREYA GHOSHAL is one of the greatest singers India ever produced.. despite being the superstar she is so humbled. 🖤 she is an epitome of perfection and dedication she shows in her work! though i love this song since shreya perfromed in an Vanita Films Awards, and i am from Pakistan, dont even know the M of Malayalam language.. but this song became my most fav, the way she rendered it definitely she is the QUEEN, but the tune is so goos.. i cant belive it was a debute song. kudos. ♥️ hope shreya and the composer collaborate more and more.. and the lastly thankyou so much to post this video.. we always love to watch the bts, how she creates magic.

The director could have sung by Himselves also.. That's a good voice I guess.. But nothing beats Shreya's voice in female voices...
Even lata ji couldn't have that much perfect diction or accent and pronunciation as in all four south indian languages,..but shreya Ghoshal has surpassed lata mangeshkar in terms of diction,accent, pronunciation, melody of voice.. I mean in everything.. That's my opinion,and now don't come here to bash me that y i said shreya ji is better than lata ji.. That's my personal opinion.. And that's what i feel, but i respect lata ji so so so much,..

She is not North Indian she is from Bengal which is east india! Everything which is not southern Indian is not North Indian. Learn to respect the regional cultures and geographical identifies! If entire South is not Madras entire non southern India is not North India
