I LOOOVEEDD the rigby and Eileen pairing, they where actually genuinely so cute together, and it’s definitely a classic opposites attract, Eileen is a good influence on rigby and pushes him to be more responsible and hardworking, and rigby can help Eileen step out of her comfort zone, and relax and have adventures and fun! I also love how him and Eileen kept it on the DL for a while LOL rigby doesn’t kiss and tell!

Honestly I don't get how some people dislike the later seasons of Regular Show, especially seasons 7 and 8. The two seasons still are as funny and teach us so many life lessons

​@infinitenim I think it an issue that a lot of shows get in their later seasons this isn't exclusive to regular show. And it's that by the later seasons the plot starts to have too much going on compared to the relative simplicity of the earlier season's which is what drew most people in initially.

Great analysis. I remember watching this season for the first time I saw myself a lot in Rigby. I flunked out of high school. I felt like a screw up in life for years but not anymore. I went back to school and graduated. I'm now in college pursuing my bachelors degree in international relations at 25.

Seeing how many other shows had the jerky best friend but made them stay that way and never get called out or grow from it made rigby so refreshing

Me personally I never hated Rigby. He was probably my favorite character between him and Muscle Man like the show wouldn't be the same without them.

Great analysis, but I would like to punctuate that his development started even before he saw the Eileen plan. Eileen had been a great influence on him way before. And when Benson was talking about "being the same person no matter where you go" he was actually talking about himself, he was projecting his own insecurities on Rigby. I think Rigby wasn't even being a bad person who needed correction in the first place, he was just being himself (that, at this point, wasn't a terrible self anymore) and making friends. I think the conversation just helped Rigby realize Benson's worries and feel empathy for him enough to act on it on his own will, cause I think, at this point, Rigby was capable of being selfless without the need for a scold.

the episode where he lifts with his back was also good character development

Ive always enjoyed Rigby because I knew there would be room for growth and self improvement due to the fact that both him and Mordecai were essentially almost one in the same as screwups. So his character arc and self improvement is still one of my favorite parts of the show.

Wondering if I saw the same show as everyone that said Rigby improved and graduated. He had to learn a foreign language so he "learned English" in China (while almost getting expelled as a result) and passed gym by beating someone in a "Food Run". That is not improvement.

Idk about “Best Character” but Rigby did have the “Best Character Development” for sure

Something I had always thought about, at least on the back burner, was how cool it would be if Rigby just unironically spoke and understood mandarin to a basically native level.

My brother being born in 2002 and me being born in 2003 the show was literally tailor made for our age but it still goes hard after I rewatch it now at 20

I love Rigby, even in the earliest seasons I think he was funny back then being selfish and all that, and I love his development too, too bad the space thing that's what I don't really like because Pops is my fav character 😢😢

Rigby has always been my favorite since the beginning. I was only like 7 or 8 when the show came out and I didn’t start watching it until I was about 9-10, but despite how much of a jerk he was at the start, I related to his impulsiveness and hyper personality, and have loved his character since. When he started becoming a better person and his character development started, I was so happy for him. I still relate to him on such a high level, even as an adult and his improvement was extremely relatable these past few years. He’s got one of the best character arcs in animation and it was so casual and so well paced that it didn’t feel forced. His relationship with Eileen is also so beautiful and they’re perfect for one another. Glad he got the redemption arc that he so well deserved, he’s the best character in the show besides Pops and Skips

I honestly enjoyed this. You've earned yourself a sub, my friend.

My grandfather just went back to college and got his degree a few years back it's never too late to go back and accomplish something if you have the right motivation and support system 😊😊

To be honest I don't blame Rigby very much because I see him as mostly misunderstood and just trying to do something to fix what he is dealing with, and I don't blame him for that and that's probably why he's still friends with Mordecai because he probably reminds him of himself just to help. And maybe that's how Mordecai feels the same way, but they just had a few flaws and they just probably had something that caused the flaw and it wouldn't be their entire fault since they just been through some which probably makes going through a hard time and probably having trouble understanding another.

I think it's crazy how Mordecai and Rigby both swapped the fan love/hate. Mordecai ended up being a tool in the end and disliked while Rigby greatly matured and got better

Rigby certainly improved from being the selfish, lazy slacker who often caused unintended problems/conflicts within the park to really growing into a better individual. Going back to high school to get his diploma and following through with things, even when the goings got tough and even helping out Benson when he was going to be stuck in China if his class failed to learn English. Along with patching things with his pops, who was more favorable towards Don since he made something for himself opposed to how Rigby never followed through with anything and wasn’t successful like his brother Don.

actually rigby started to really change in mid season 5-season 6. cuz you also notice him and eileen's relationship get better from s2. but s7 is where they really took rigby's character and improved it

That was one of the biggest tearjerkers of all time

I remember watching this as a kid but unfortunately couldn’t watch the rest of the seasons because I had to move but then when Disney+ announced Hulu on there platform I watched the whole season and it was worth watching because everyone had character development.

I cannot believe the fact that Rigby's voice actor also voices the daedric lord of depravity and corruption, Sanguine, from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Not only that but im sure he also voices Doctor Octopus in Marvel Spiderman games

Whats sad is that here in South africa i dont think they showed all the episodes for regular show so i didn't get to see the ending and the episode where Rigby graduates basically when they were at space and the episode where everyone was helping pops beat enty pops well for me it ended where they through a train and enty pops survived thats it thats how i experienced the end of it💀😐😭

Seeing Rigby's family life... I can see how he turned out the way he did. Being belittled, and compared to your golden child brother who everyone usually admires and likes over him can breed resentment, selfishness, an inferiority complex, and a bit of a people pleasing attitude, and not to mention general jerkiness. Not an excuse, but it is a reason, and it's great that he changed so much.

No no matter what I will never like Rigby. I do recognize the character development he got later Seasons but, Rigby ain't shit really what kind of best friend screw over his best friend way getting into college because, he don't want to be a bum. Boy Mordecai is very forgiving because man that cannot be me.

Idk i loved rigbone, his whole character especially in the early seasons was the slacker that dragged the follower into antics, overall every single character got amazing growth accept fives he definitely deserved some more episodes

I think Rigby getting this development is great in early seasons I didn’t like his character but he has my sympathy because of his family life and why he was like the way he was but thanks to Modercai ditching him with CJ and spending time with Eileen really improved him and made become what he is now

It wasn’t out of spite. Rigby wanted him to ask Margret out and Mordecai (the worst character in the show) fumbled acting like a child then killed his friend.

i agree on his growth but honestly he almost ruins a LOT of the earlier seasons when watching back thru them bc he is so unbelievably selfish and dumb. like i found it very hard to watch some of the earlier episodes bc the plot literally wouldn’t work if he isn’t insanely self centered and stupid which just feels like bad writing
