Koonse is the perfect example of having patience with a player and not rushing him into action. Lucky fans aren't making decisions, they've wanted him released for two seasons.

I think it had to do with JMD dumb ass by keeping him on the side lines instead of seeing what he got cause he had CJ as his choice instead of MK

Nawh name that man Kunta Koonce

Patrick Graham deserves a lot of credit for using d-line alignments that confused the Chiefs o-line. Chief’s guards often found themselves getting to the second level to block LBs while the Raider’s d-line got straight to the Chiefs backfield. It was beautiful to watch.

Koonce with Maxx and if (big IF) Tyree Wilson gets on track, this defense can be and should be great. Let’s give props to Jack Jones & Hobbs as well. The tackling was spot on as well.

Our D as a whole is building off each others accomplishments and its amazing to see. Seen how amik was beating himself up for not grabbing the INTs? He was competing in spirit with Jack Jones the same way I feel Koonce is competing with Crosby

yeah, Koonce steadily becoming the dominate end to complement Maxx. gotta love what this D is doing.

Koonce's rush moves are almost better than Crosby's. He can't rely on having as long of arms, but his hands are much more active and he was killing the chiefs tackles in terms of wrist control. Most of his rush wins were from swipes, cross chops, and bull rushes with wrist control.

The defense is making gang tackle everyone working, communicating with each other. All this and displined, very few penalties. Damn I am so impressed. The autumn wind is a freaking RAIDER, Yes the culture is changing. Been waiting a very long time. Fan since the 60's

MK could have had 4 sacks. Missed it on mahomes run for a td. The moves have been there. Imo, his dip move is exceptional. Those tackles don't know when it's coming. Yes, MK was the best player on the Raiders yesterday. Still in shock how much mahomes was running for his life. Imo, it got started from the opening play. Blitzed mahomes with Spillane. Told me, we attacking you. I can't wait to see a bigger Tyree inside. Something that wont be talked about is how mahomes was never comfortable stepping into the pocket. Was running side to side trying to evade rushers. Sanjit, can you do a breakdown of Thayer Mumford at left tackle. Thanks

This is amazing… Maxx is about to eat going forward.. Koonce has one more year on the rookie deal.. (we gotta pay him if he ramains consistent) draft oLine or Dline first round. Then we can keep drafting and developing paying our own and stop wasting money on chandlers, Ngakoue, and Bruce Irvin’s of the world.. we need our own players getting the bag…

Does Koonce's recent development have anything to do with the absence of a certain coach that's not yelling at him anymore for getting to close to the Qb during drills

I know this is nothing new but if Crosby wouldn’t be held most of the game he’d get atleast 5 sacks yesterday. Refs always do him hella dirty and the chiefs never try to hide that shit!

Prime example of why you gotta not be quick to give up on some players. It was SUPER obvious in this game and the two previous how much better he has gotten. Future looking very bright. Just imagine when Wilson starts to click too!

Yet everyone is ready to give up on AOC despite him being tossed in the fire, with an interim HC and an OC using who knows what playbook.

Koonce, Wilson and Crosby. WOW. Build and pay for D and O line. Get a QB. Figure out who’s on the roster that’s overpaid, not deserving of that pay and either renegotiate their contract or sever ties. AP and Champ deserve their shot; MD needs to give it them both.

I’ll give you credit on this one Sanjit you’ve been calling for the raiders to play Koonce more since the day he was drafted. After a while I thought you were crazy but he definitely is making a name for himself this year. 5 sacks in 2 games? That’s amazing

Also Moehrig has been ballin too, hes gotten so much better. Some players just need time,we cant be so quick to want to get rid of them,i get its been hard with all the losing but this team is a dynamic QB away from something special,who would've thought in the off season that this defense would be playing at the level it has. The future will be bright,like AP said "enough is enough" just win baby!

Remember in otas and camp the defense was making a lot of plays. But they struggled in the beginning of the year. Obviously MCdoof had a lot to do with that but the d has been hyped up since the off-season

I remember you liking Koonce when he started. He’s developed well!

I believe Koonce has been always that player, I remember Saint J said that years ago, he had his moments but any coach gave him a real opportunity, we need to thank coach Pierce to recognized that Wilson is not that guy and have the balls to move him in the interior and give Koonce the opportunity to be that guy

This was a breakdown of violence and pain lol.

FINALY!! We have the ability to take advantage of the best matchups we get from the opponent in terms of protection. So now our pass rush has an impact way way way more often. A couple times we faced them over the recent years the Chiefs where not playing with their top offensive lineman and it didnt make a difference. And how many times have we seen the last couple weeks Crosby generate a pressure forcing the QB to move and Koonce is right there to finish the play or vice versa. Just beautiful stuff.

I've been a big fan of Koonce when he got drafted. I'm glad he didn't get disappointed that he wasn't playing much & give up on himself. He's busted his ass at getting to becoming our starting DE. So proud of this kid. He made his stake on the field of battle on Christmas Day that he's ready to get after QB & take control. So excited for him to finish this season out strong.

I’ve been saying Koonce is a menace since last year. I would see him play 3 snaps a game and make impact…

That drove me nuts on that play Mahomes threw to Watson. It looked like he was sacked for sure and he slipped away. He is an elusive QB.

This also shows how Crosby is getting held or put in submission holds nearly every play.

Look at the last play here. 3 vs 5 and almost got mahomes. This was one of my favorite reps. Tho MK missed sacking mahomes, mk, Tyree and Maxx were that disruptive, even the 5 lineman couldn't keep our guys from hunting mahomes. Just wait til Tyree puts it all together.

You can have patience with guy that was drafted in the 3rd. Just like Farrell , Wilson is going to have to show something in the next 2 seasons. I see him as a tweener richard Seymour type player if he developes and adds 15 more pounds.
