It’s got to be said that the standard of wheel to wheel racing in that race was shocking

Ha there were definitely some pretty bad instances - but to be a bit fair to some of those drivers, I also clipped out 12 mins of clean and hard racing in the edit! 😅

Great racing! I really like how you format and edit these videos. It's a great way to watch a race. Just a little unsolicited advice for T5 where you got spun by the yellow car. Unless the guy behind me has a serious run on me, or he's just very quick on alternate lines, I don't cover the inside. You will lose way too much speed and they will usually pass you up the hill (if they don't punt you, that is). If they take the inside, they will have to keep it tight on exit and will lose a lot of momentum going up the hill. At the same time, you have a lot of room to carry speed around the outside, so you can pin them inside and drive by them as they lose that momentum. Of course, you run the risk of them sliding into you or something, but you can't drive in fear of all the what-ifs. I didn't see your line in that corner when not defending, but it's a spot where a lot of drivers lose time at Laguna. You want start getting the car angled toward the apex just before you get on the brakes. Then trail brake until you are sure you will hit your apex. The fastest line is when you get your inside tires up on the curbing just after the sausage. You want to get as close to the sausage as you can without hitting it, and clip the dirt on the other side of the curb. It will help you get the car turned. You will carry much more speed and can gain a tenth or two by the next corner. My apologies if you already do this. I genuinely just like to help when I learn a tip like this, but I'm always afraid I'll sound condescending. I'm only a 2.4k driver so I'm no expert but I'm fairly quick at Laguna Seca. Cheers!

Ah hey mate and thanks for the kind feedback on the video. But even more thanks for taking the time to break that corner down! I’ve always struggled with it in single seaters especially - getting the car rotated enough early on without losing the back end. Really helpful points you make there that I’ll try to put into action!

Great race. The least you deserved was a top 10 there. Real shame about getting bumped off, I’d have been really frustrated about that one. And blimey, those lads battling in front of you weren’t shy, were they! All over the place!

Ben, what about RaceRoom content? Have you been playing it recently? I really like the driving there, but there's just not much to do...too tired of rookie ranked races being always the same cars and tracks.

Hey Sergio buddy - not been back on for a little while for exactly that reason unfortunately. I think it is possible to find the occasional full grid on the servers which mirror the ranked championship races, but I can't be so picky with when I go online these days!

I realize this video is ancient in YT time, but figured I'd give it a shot anyway. So it looks like you're significantly quicker than I am and I was wondering if through turn 2, the Mario Andretti hairpin I think it's called, it is faster to leave some room at the 2 apexes since that seemed to be your preferred line. I always try to put my inside wheels right on the kerbs at both of the apexes. They seem smooth enough not to upset the balance of the F4 car, so I don't think I'm losing any time through there for that particular reason. I do probably brake a little too conservatively approaching the turn and I know I need to work on my trailbraking, and I think that's likely to really pay off for T2 here, but I'd appreciate any pointers anyone in the know would be willing to share regarding the best line through there. TIA!

Hey buddy - thanks for tuning in! So honestly I’ve changed my approach to this corner quite a bit I think over many races. In part it depends on the car and racing situation, but I tend to try a tight line as I think you’re describing too more recently. Other quicker YTers who do hotlap videos will be worth checking out though - I’m an amateur by comparison!! 😅😅

Very poor drving standards in a top split with lots of 2k+ irating drivers. I really like the F4 though, and your videos. But F4 is somehow recipe for disaster.
