There was region-wide collectivization of farms that started the famine, not only in Ukraine. Ukraine though suffered the most as Stalin blocked aid and free movement out of the starvation zone.

@djape1977 Many historians agree on both sides that Ukraine suffered the most, as four million had died or been killed, due to being targeted by Stalin. The other one million were a mixture of ethic groups with many ethic #Ukrainians among them who lived outside #Ukraine 🇺🇦 in other parts of the former USSR.

They dont need them. There was one isolated incident of non lethal CS gas being used which of course it should not have been according to the laws of war, never mind that it can be used without limit on civilians.

Re the devil's advocate argument for the starvation of Mariupol: I find it hard to see the military necessity of a siege in a war which is itself an illegal war of aggression.

The city is being siege and then there is starvation. That happens during a siege. Hell that happens during a war. Why didn't the AFU evacuate the civilians out of the city? The AFU has evacuated entire front lines due to an impending Russian offensive. The Russians have done the same. The AFU is doing better on that front, so that is good. Doing something NATO would have never done.

When does g7 decide what europe does with assets. Also eu is on the hook to pay for it if it goes south right... us said they cant due to getting it passed congress... missing details is important... japan canada us deciding what eu tax payers need to cover right

Wasn't it the members of Azov that were preventing civilians feom leaving the combat zone despite Russians establishing several humanitarian corridors? Amnesty international reported on Ukrainian army using the civilians as shields.

No Azov was seen warning civilians that Russia was shelling the evacuation routes. Russian forces were bombarding the area of Mariupol where some of the 200,000 people gathering to try and flee the city. Many of the roads had also been mined
