Great Video. I had a problem with wife's 2007 Camry. Thought it was a a possible blend door issue but turned out to be something different. Dealer wanted $2800 to fix the problem. $2500 for a new Control Panel and $300 for diagnostics. I said no thanks and drove home. Watched a few videos and talked to a few friends. Made a trip to the local auto store bought a can of A/C charge for about $50 and all is well in the land. No problems. It was just low on charge. We have no proof but suspect the local repair shop that we recently went to had let the charge out because I made them pay for a new radiator after breaking mine while replacing my alternator. They were also upset that I made them wipe off all the greasy hand / glove / paw prints off the hood and front of the car when they were done. Don't you love just love it when someone uses an oil filled rag to wipe up oil. I mean really, how much oil can a oil filled rag hold before it just smears it around? OK yer cars done!! That'll be $157.99 Please!! We even wiped'er down a bit!!

Does the machine come with specs on refrigerant and oil capacities for different vehicles?
On a 1995 ford ranger 4.0 the a/c system calls for 1.9 LBS. What would cause a failure to compete the charge? We are using a KoolKare plus machine . This machine has the option to charge on the high or low side we have been trying to charge on the high side is this the proper method or should I charge though the low side. Thank,s for the vidos and keep them comming.
How did you know how much oil to put inside also should the high side be 200?

Hi, how and where did you inject the oil into the system? THANK YOU FRIEND
I’ve got a question for you if I could. I just changed out a condenser in a 2010 Escape that had front end damage. While the garage was trying to refill the system it pulls a good vacuum but when it tries to fill it with the 1.56 lbs of Freon, it only gets to .6 lbs before it gives a failure code. Have you ever ran into this problem?
So if you add oil to the compressor before vacuum, does that oil stay in the system during vacuum?
thanks for the videos I bought the same setup last year, I have the robin-air die injector gun and it is tiny. Where did you get yours sir?

Can it suck all the old PAG oil, even without the refrigerant in the system? (et's say lif you installed a new drier, compressor...ect. This way you can put in the correct amt of oil system requires, if you can remove all the oil from the system even from the new compressor which some comes with oil in it. That would be great if it can do that. )
So when you drain the oil..does it take oil out from the compressor too ?
Had a question, I have an older robinair very similar to this, and it does not tell me to equalize hoses after charging. I end up with pressure still on the gauges after charging the system and disconnecting the hoses. I normally select recover after disconnecting hoses and get about .25lbs out of just the hoses. Is this .25 not making it into the vehicles system? My manual says nothing about equalizing like yours does.. thanks Dan
I saw the option to recharge from both sides( Hight and Low) is that correct or something will be bad?

Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate if you could guide me to the right way to prepare a new manifold gauge by purging it to check the system pressure then connect the yellow hose to a refrigerant can. Not sure how to purse the 3 hoses as well as the manifold. I have not find anyone explain this. Thank you one more question. when disconnecting the hoses after you are done does that mean air can get again to the hoses from the valve that you connect to the high and low pressure ports?
recovery happens with the engine off? is there going to be any oil or dye trapped on any components that don't flow through with the system off?
Do you need to turn and run the engine when you doing this process?

What should my pressures be on a 2011 F-250 high and low side?
Thanks! Are you charging with the engine on or off? Also do you ever verify what pressures are in case you ever find yourself helping someone who only has gauges? I was surprized that you only put the amount of oil in that came out as opposed to putting closer to the system spec back in. Many times when a bad compressor is taken off it will be completely dry with zero oil in it. When it came new it had 4 oz's. I was wondering how the amount of freon is determined by the designer. Do the teach that info? Thanks! love the exciting music up front.

When you change a compressor do you drain the oil from the new compressor, measure it and put in the amount required in the system specifications?

Yes
When did you add the refrigerant?
If the system is empty because of an accident by a friend who accidentally hit one of the lines to the compressor and all refrigerant leaked out with psssschh it was a very warm/hot gas that was coming out. Ive replaced that small little line of like 30cm. What about oil then? How much to add? Did the oil escape out when the gas did? or can the ac machine still recover if any oil are still left in the system and then add the new correct amount? sorry for my english :)
One of the steps when replacing a compressor is to flush the system, but often people gloss over that step. I've seen some use compressed air, which seems like a strange thing to do since high pressure air will always include water that will condense everywhere. Is it common practice in the automotive industry to use compressed air, or do many shops use nitrogen? Is it common practice to use a volatile flush solvent?
Hello!. I have a 2007 Eddie Bauer Explorer 4.6 V8. The AC never have been recharged and I realized that it is not cooling as several years ago. Can you help me to identify the Low and High ports used for recharge the air conditioning system with the appropriated gas and the maximum capacity of the Gas? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, I love your videos.. Great Work. I have a 2003 Tribute with 165k miles. I changed the compressor because of a bad pulley bearing. I used a re-man'd 4 Seasons compressor. It failed after about 8 months(leaked from the compressor). They replaced it, but the replacement had a bent pulley shaft which caused a leak. They again replaced it, but the third replacement was noisey from the beginning... Then it too leaked out the coolant. I gave up and went to a local repair shop. He used a NAPA compressor which lasted 3 weeks, and it too was leaking from compressor. The local shop re-charged the system about 3 weeks ago... So I'm waiting to see how this compressor works. Any ideas?? Each time the compressor was changed, I changed the receiver/dryer and orifice tube. The shop claimed to have flushed the system too. Thanks!!

Sounds like the blend door isn't closing all the way. It directs the path of the air coming through the HVAC box. Take it to a different place or dealer and have them check it.
