There is a misinformation in the fanbase. Ayamatsu if diverging point is Subaru in loop 4 called Reinhard for help but he does not respond. This was answered by Tappei in the qna. Subaru died 88 times to find a way to save Emilia, he even asked for the guards help yet they couldn't do anything so he isn't prideful. On the 89th loop Reinhard comes in and blows everything away, making all of Subaru effort seem ridiculous. And Subaru is just there left crying. He has no idea what to do now. At the end Subaru admits he wishes he was like Reinhard. That he didn't have to sacrifice anything or anybody and have the power to complete his goals.

It’s sad but his life isn’t great just because he’s OP. Reinhart lost because he failed to be the only thing he had left in his life. A hero. And so he is just Reinhart, a man with nothing left

​@@1993VolkswagenPassatGLXVR6Yeah that's the point. Reinhardt is unkillable. Reinheardts blessing is to literally give him whatever he needs to win. If fire harms him, he becomes immune to fire. If blades stab him, he gets super natural senses to dodge them a mile away. If reinhardt dies, he literally gets the ability to revive. Canonical power he has by the way. You can't win against reinhardt in any way in the traditional sense because he is immortal. So the only way to win, is to knock over the chess board and play by a new set of rules. Reinhardt may be unkillable, he may be a hero, but he can't save everyone. That alone, will drive him to despair when he realizes all of this, is because of him.

I have a legit question I’m an anime only and ik this isn’t canon…anyway I’ve heard Reinhard has wish powers if he found out about return by death couldn’t he technically wish for his memories to never be reset or does return by death scale higher than odd Laguna. If the former is true couldn’t Reinhard wish for some type of memory alteration resistance and through retaining his memory kill Subaru over and over again till he gets to a save point where he dies and faces true death?

Rienherds wish is od laguna giving him divine protections. Subarus rbd is a authority of sin which is superior/counter to divine protections. So rienherd cannot nullify its with any other divine protection but just brute force through it with numbers. He can't beat rbd because subaru is just that guy who never gives up

​@@eman9779 my theory is that since od laguna created blessings to counter authorities, Reinhardt being the most blessed is basically supposed to be an ultimate trump card against subaru specifically. He can have any blessing he wants because in the end even those arent enough to defeat something fate defying like RBD

I mean, some people believe that Reinhard can wish his way out of any opponent no matter what, but by your explanation, his ability is not really unbeatable as long as there is an existence that's as strong, if not stronger, than Od Laguna. Reinhard sure is op, but he is nit undefeatable. Even subaru has beaten him in his pride route, well subaru did not kill him but he destroyed everything he was trying to protect. There also are lot of characters who could just delete whole story like some fate/nasu verse characters. All character who are stronger than the gods in the rezero verse are stronger than reinhard

@@Re_Zero_FanI mean with the blessing of the phoenix renewal spam he can do I think it’s more of he is only marginally weaker without them (if we talking pure sword skill/power he’s the same but survivability he gets a lot of boosts from a few divine protection) strength isn’t just about punch harder after all
