He was being compared to haaland at the start and a lot of people said he would do really good. He had an average season for a striker but people compare him to haalands amazing season

Took far too much criticism last season. Was one of the few positives pre world cup and niggles and less minutes from Jan didn't help him much. He's explosive. Not wanted someone to succeed and prove people wrong this much for a long time. So excited to see this next season.

True! But not only does he have to learn English (which is hard enough for the lad) but imagine his face when trying to understand scouse 😂.

I gotta say, at the beginning of the season, I was sure he would have more goals than haaland.. i ate my hat humbly and started to root for both of them equally toward the end of the season, seeing how down to earth haaland really is.. Haaland is a goalscoring machine, one of the purest and most efficient number 9s. I don't think Darwin can ever match that. But Darwin is a much better team player and has the work rate to match it. He spends more time winning the ball back, passing to his teammates and getting assists. Meanwhile Haaland has a nasty habit of disappearing.
