While I want to agree with you, I think its often forgot how much efficiency is added from the 14nm shrinkage alone. Im also wondering what a 2 8Pin connector card from them would do this round vs Nvidia. And whats Nvidia going to do to counter strike this. This was a big blow to the 200.00 price segment. Once we see real reviews instead of company claims we will know the truth. But I do believe AMD Brought their A game with this product and they truly envision a different path than Nvidia this round.

That's one set back I think AMD has. Yes their products do deliver, but presentation plays an important role when it comes to marketing and selling yourself (and your product). It's gaming, be loose, be enthusiastic! I love my formality when it comes to presentations but they gotta be a bit less in many cases.

You've earned a sub and a like dude, I like your channel and your videos. You speak in terms that anyone can understand, and you speak fast enough that it isn't annoying but also slow enough that it isn't gibberish.

Benchmarks are out, the rx 480 cant beat the gtx 1080 even in xfire. So happy i ordered the gtx 1080 ;)

I don't like to be bias but in this case I think you may be right. I know Nvidia did do some things but AMD has always be the one to revolutionize things. I think the most amazing thing was that Nvidia came out with Pascal... the polaris came in on a 14mn finFET. Anyone else smell the competition? Oh my is it a good year to be alive.

I have no complaints running either AMD or Nvidia. Have one rig with the two 970's and the other rig with two 380's. Can't really see much of a difference other than the price and of course the one rig can do the VR while the other rig can't.

why? if the RX 480 doesn't perform above all expectations it won't be much faster. it's supposed to be a bit faster than the 390 right? and the 390 performs pretty much the same as a gtx 970 +/- 5 fps depending on the game.

RX 480 is alot better then the 970 coz 970 uses alot older tech then RX 480 what means that RX 480 will get the the new drivers for better fps for games

Egert Lehter I'll believe that when I see it. If "alot" means anything less than 20%-30% of a performance bump I wouldn't consider upgrading. (At least I don't consider it for my 970 which is also a good overclocker at 1400MHz core.)

I think it should be the sweet spot for 768p with everything on high/ultra and Vsync on at 60FPS (for a good few years), Ive been using a GTX 760 (4GB Version) with my 1366 x 768 32inch display for a while now and have noticed that i have had to start turning shadows down to medium in a few of the newer games (to keep a constant 60fps and keep the temps in the 60s,) but im definitely tempted just like you to make the plunge to the red team if all this isnt too good to be true or when i wake from this dream ;)

Considering that 390 can run pretty much everything at 1080p maxed with 60 FPS and even some things in 1440p and the RX 480 is supposed to be more powerful (even if just a little) than the 390, I think that it's kind of overkill for both 768p and 900p. Now to be honest I hope these were joke questions and not legit.

true but a lot of people don't know its only shipping with one 6 pin power connector. being a 150 watt gpu and motherboard supplying 75 of those watts you can power it off of two molex converted into 6 pin only requiring about 6.25 - 6.3 amps from the psu.

I've already seen videos saying we're expecting the rx480 to have performance around the r9 390x. The 1070 is showing to be only about 30% faster than the r9 390X even at 1440p. So, you spend 90% more money and you get 30% more performance.

@Science Studio I have a question, hoping you can help. The question is if i overclock my 5930k to 4.0GHZ and it leave either on 1.090 1.110 1.115 Volts, is that safe to leave on manual for 24/7 use? I tried Adaptive mode and it will not work what so ever, it gives me way more voltage than i need even when i adjust it correctly. Also if i overclock my cache to 3.8GHZ 3.9GHZ or 4.0GHZ using the same voltages and leave it on manual only my cache won't down clock is that also ok for 24/7 use? Will it mess up or degrade my motherboard Cpu or any of my components? My cooler is a Noctua NH-U12s my Motherboard is an Asus x99 Strix.. Any Ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

tl; dr we don't know how powerful RX480

Nope. They showed it playing Doom and Hitman on ultra 1440p @ 60. Also: videocardz.com/60253/amd-radeon-r9-480-3dmark11-benchmarks

And you can do a better speculation if you take in count that it's not just a die shrink. It's possible that 390 and 970 are behind this gpu. And so, for 200$, a very interesting product. Wait&See

So when exactly can we start ordering?

Do you think that one of these will be able to run 1080p on modern and future games? What about 1440p? Ultra-wide?

Your main computer specs should be in the section on your channel where you can say something about yourself

My main computer changes monthly. I build new computers and feature them all the time.

As a pleb uni student working part time at subway I'm definitely looking into this.

i got a question? (i am new to pc building) does the rx480 fit in the AsRock B85M-ITX motherboard?

When is the full line up coming out? I plan on getting the flagship card if it beats the 1080. Does just the RX 480 come out of June 29, or is it the entire lineup?
