This won’t be necessary if railways were electrified with overhead catenary for power supply. Electrified track is more efficient.
Very costly affair. 2200 ltrs for 800 passenger with 2 staffs, so nearly 5L disel cost will be added to the ticket price. Why don't they draw electricity through pantograph from OHE and change it to three phase in loco to run the air conditioners? Wheel dynamos can handle the fan and light with the support of lead acid batteries on board. Please explain the technical reason sir, thanks.

this was one aspect of the Pakistan train I was longing to see and today is the day, good to see equipment immaculately maintained but I have doubt on 650 hp per Gen. Set because those Cummins were not looking that big looks like an inline 6 cylinder engine, I may be wrong.
