Football fanatics can't pretend to care about the money being put into football. Long are the days of it representing the identity of some place with the teams being filled by their native sons. It's not really genocide since the population is actually growing even larger than if Israel allowed development since once countries become wealthier, their fertility rates decline. Roman Abramovich has done more for the UK than any government in recent memory. He has provided jobs through Chelsea FC and even gave access to the club's resources to the NHS during the pandemic, despite not being allowed in the country since 2018. He has Ukrainian roots, for goodness' sake; Roman has a Ukrainian grandmother, he was against the war, and was even poisoned for trying to bring peace when it first broke out. The sanctions and seizure of assets he has faced have been nothing short of unjust, purely due to his Russian nationality. A big lesson learned during this whole thing is that the UK government thinks they are above everyone; there is no fairness. If they want to seize your assets based on alleged speculation, they will, no questions asked. They criticise the Kremlin for being authoritarian, but where is the democracy in this approach? They are literally doing the same thing. If there were concerns about Roman and his money, why accept it in the first place? The treatment Roman received is a clear case of double standards and government hypocrisy.

How many jobs did Roman really create? A few dozen? A hundred? You're making it sound like he is singlehandedly responsible for reviving the UK economy. If Chelsea never existed and there was another PL club to take their spot, there would be nearly an equal number of jobs created from that other club having PL stature. All of those security people on part time contracts for Chelsea games would be there for QPR games instead. Horrible argument. Roman made his money off of Russian oligarch ties to Putin. Roman was the largest proprietor of the steel industry and is a literal billionaire off the back of thousands of working class people across Russia and across the world. I've seen the working conditions of one of his former mills in the US and it is no fairy tale. He can be against the war all he wants in name but he only is who he is today because of his ties to Putin. As for "why accept it in the first place?" That is a question for the Premier League. Their Owners and Directors Test is brazenly about the sustainability of profit rather than any ethical reasons. As a literal oligarch, Roman was always guaranteed to be in the black from an accounting perspective. Same goes for the Saudis - they are printing money so whats the issue!? The PL accepted them without any regard for ethics. I won't disagree with the UK government thinking they're above everything. The West in general has the power and influence to act like they care about a select few issues. But it is sad to see so many regular people stand up for a despotic billionaire who doesn't give a shit about you.

Craziest part about abramovich post Chelsea is realising that he had always owned Vitesse, it was always a running joke about why Chelsea had players go there on loan but it turns out that he secretly owned them as well and used them as a perfect loan spot for any of the young products who needed to go out

As my Dad always say about football everything comes in cycles Liverpool where on top Manchester United where on top Blackburn Rovers had a brief spell at the top Arsenal went undefeated for a season Chelsea had a spell of winning many trophies Manchester City have been very successful of late & at some point myb Newcastle United will have a spell as top dogs or someone else. I can remember in the 90's Real Madrid did not win much for a long period & in the early 00's before Messi came along Barcelona went 4 seasons without wining anything at all. Look at Milan in the 90's Inter did not win much. Aston.Villa & Hamburg where successful in the 80's We Chelsea might be terrible now but we still had some fantastic times & some day we will rise again. No Surrender we are are Chelsea till the grave.

It is hypocritical. I mentioned in the video that Parliament only began to care about Abramovich’s ties to Putin and his status as an oligarch once tensions escalated with Russia due to their invasion of Ukraine. If it were truly about morality, the British government would never have implemented the Golden Visa scheme and allowed him to become such a prominent figure in the first place. All the governmental parties mentioned and shown, from Saudi Arabia to Qatar to Russia to Britain, are morally questionable in some way.
