You are right, people here(Kenya) are tired of thieves. Most people have been victims at least once. So anytime a thief is caught, it triggers past trauma and people unleash a thorough beating on the thief.

I love the fact the Kenyan people were upset and ready to beat him for his transgressions. A community that holds their people accountable is a community that can thrive.

If that phone is worth 60,7 $ or above. Then cut it. If not, then the judge should deter him from it with other means.

He is already beaten by hunger, unemployment, depression,so how far more you want punish him. The solution is not to hum him physically but, in a legal way according to law. Lol same here I stole a cheap watch from a drug store when I was a kid and when I got home my mom started asking me where I got the watch and I think I told her a friend gave it to me anyway she knew I was lying and eventually she got it out of me and I confessed and told her I stole it from the drug store earlier and she whipped me with a wire hanger and made me go back to the store and give it back and tell them what I did that I stole it. Let's just say I never stole anything ever again. 😞

Sadly, it's a corrupt culture. I visited Kenya twice in 2019...was scammed by the taxi drivers and police asking me for money. People whom I thought were my new friends, were after money also. Still, I love Kenya for its hard working and honest people. Everyone else was a disgrace to the nation.

See if I lived in an area like that, I’d go buy spare squirt nozzles (the kind used by auto wishshield washing squirters). I’d mount the nozzles on the outside of the doors, right below the windows, with the hose running thru the door into the cab of the car. Then hook the hose up to bear spray! Someone tries something- give him a big blast!
