How Phil Jackson made made Michael Jordan the GOAT [1991 championship]

Спорт

Many people ask why Michael Jordan is the GOAT. His six championships are a big reason but MJ would have won fewer titles without making one crucial decision. Phil Jackson made Michael Jordan the GOAT by asking him to change something about his game.
Phil Jackson became the Bulls head coach before the 1989/90 season and the two won 6 championships together. It was before that first title that Jordan had his epiphany.
Michael Jordan’s greatnesses is what propelled the NBA to even greater heights after the Magic vs. Bird decade. Jordan was part of that decade but never broke through to the NBA Finals let alone win a championship. The Bulls lost to the Bad Boy Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals I’m back to back years before finally tipping their rivals. They went on to beat Magic’s Lakers in the 1991 Finals.
Jordan’s decision was inspired by the triangle offense and Tex Winter. Tex was a legend of the game and followed Jackson throughout his career because of their shared belief in the triangle. The system helped unlock the Bulls’ potential and that of Kobe Bryant’s Lakers years later. Let me know in the comments how many titles Michael Jordan would have won had he never been coached by Phil Jackson!

So, I generally tell people when there are these kinds of discussion that the lucky ones where the ones who played or coachrd MJ. MJ was the absolute greatest of all time, and there is nothing without him, no championships for the Bulls or anything thing else. I have found that some people I trying to take these positions against MJ in order to discredit him. Especially some people that watched The Last Dance but weren't old enough to watch MJ play. So yah, Phil, Scotty, Dennis, and many more where very important to MJ winning championships, but in the end there's nothing if you do not have MJ to start with....and another thing that gets lost in this, MJ brought millions into the game and made the NBA what it us today. People like my mother who never watched the NBA watched the Bulls and tracked MJ through the playoffs. He was considered a hero here in the USA and throughout the entire world....there isn't anybody in today's NBA that even comes close to that kind of status......

If your gonna tell me the story about MJ and not mention the 84 Olympics then your video doesn't mean much to me.MJ was a ACC,NCAAChampion, and a Olympic gold medalist well before Phil.

Are you saying that because you really believe it? Are you trying to convince yourself? MJ was an absolutely great player who needed a great coach to teach him and convince him to play championship level, team oriented basketball. Just being a great scorer and great defender does not necessarily lift a team up to greatness. The better team wins. That's why MJ had 0 rings before Phil.

There's no doubt that MJ raised the level of Scottie's play, and visa versa. One could argue that Michael and Scottie were the best duo ever to play together. Where's that discussion?
