IDK. Sounds like a you problem. You need to pick a side: Are you a hardcore 1% / 10% player or are you a casual or semi-casual? Dungeon grind (and playing the top meta in general) isn't worth the price unless you're hardcore or are enjoying it. You can level efficiently without going insane. Get quests for them and do each dungeon once - it's massive XP per run, in addition to good loot. Then you spend time doing quests while leveling professions and gathering runes so you save up money. You can just ignore the sweaty people who obsess over parses, XP per hour and gear score.

Don't grind dungeons if you don't want to grind, it's not optimal for 99% of players anyways. For the average player, questing is way faster than the dungeon grind. Sounds like maybe you are taking advice from the 1% when you are not the 1%?

Dungeons are faster. It's why people do it. It's basically group AOE farming. Real question is, is that 50% going to be worth your sanity? If not, go do quests. You don't need to hit 40 within a week. You'll also have a much nicer time leveling professions.

Phase 2 leveling is so much fun man and all the extra new stuff as well its amazing, this has been by far the best WoW experience I have ever played

I only got my rogue to 25 the day before phase two released and I got my warlock to 25 halfway through phase one and did BFD only twice. To me I'd never want to do easy content raids such as BFD and now Gnomeregan every three days or even every week. I just don't have the motivation nor see the point. I'll probably level to 40 but it might be halfway through again. There's no reason to rush to 40 only to keep listening to people complaining about "not enough content" and that "phases are too long". Take it nice and slow is my plan.

Try to remember that no one is forcing you to dungeon grind. You are still welcome to quest instead. We're all grinding to get the gold from max level questing. If you don't mind being poor, don't grind levels.

People would rather polish blizzard's nob at every corner than just agree to disagree and let people voice their sole opinions. P1 was a good first phase considering its season of discovery not season of 'i've been clinging to this game for 15 years'. On a side note, its so dumbfounding that Blizzard knew full and well that people will do everything and anything to get in game gold - even banning GDKP - yet they didn't think to prevent the gnomeregan quest item from getting farmed to hell.

The urge to race to end game content is why retail sucks. Unless your guild is trying W1 attempts/clears there is no reason to sweat via dungeon grinds if its boring.

There hasn't been an expansion where I have felt the urge to race to the end game. I've always taken my time doing every quest and other content added. Sounds like a you problem.

If you have friends to play with, dungeon grinding is a blast shooting the shit and smashing mobs. When im solo i run around looking for runes cause i dont want to get too ahead of my slowest homie.

I started in wrath back in the day and I have a level 75 in wrath classic I'm at a similar point that I am in sod where I just can't be asked to grind so much haha

Started a hunter a few days ago, peaking out all of her profs including the secondaries. So not grinding my face off on quests, just a few of the longer ones that take me through skinning, fishing zones and getting runes. So that's different. And having a great time, no pressure.

I agree with you.

I have returned to sod a week ago and made 25 lvl 10 minutes after p2 was alive. To be honest was fun till 30 but now i have to grind SM till 40 and don’t cate much about STV. Also have a Job and 2 kids so don’t have much time. So i feel ya. On the other hand this is Classic it should be grindy. Cheers

I love how mmo players will play the game in the least fun way possible doing the same dungeon over and over for hours on multiple characters to do the same raid multiple times a week on alts just to complain that its grindy and that your burnt out. Maybe don't play the game in the least fun way possible, doing the same content over and over.

I actually stopped playing on phase 2. Guild was too hardcore power leveling and i was a bit drained from the long wait for phase 2. It just wasn't fun anymore, i felt always so behind now.

Yeah after seeing everyone's comments it really puts it into perspective to the it at your own pace

I unsubbed today because honestly, I don't feel it. Phase 2 was supposed to be amazing, when everyone gets their 31st talent and all, hunters get beastial wrath or True shot aura or Wyvern sting and everything was supposed to be cool, but then they nerf the shit out of every class that is fun to play. The anti-fun squad of Blizzard devs just nerf everything. what's wrong being able to solo players in PvP just using your pet as a hunter? is being killed by IA any worse than any other mob in the game? And lets not forget the Starsurge nerf to Moonkins. Melee Hunter will get nerf because they destroy warriors in PvP and Blizzard cannot have their darlings suffer such insolence, so melee hunter will get nerfed. Anyone and anything that hands a warrior their a** is getting nerfed. in case you didn't know, Warrior is Blizzards favorite class, it has been since 2004. You can count on one hand, the times that class has been nerfed in any way, if they ever have. There is a reason TBC is so loved. Warriors were in the gutter where they belonged and hunters and warlocks were the kings. Ah the good times.

100%. This is a meta slave complaining about being a meta slave. I'm semi-hardcore and I didn't do BFD 6 times a week. Sweating a little on my main is fine, but then I spend the rest of the week leveling alts and professions because that's what I find fun.

i agree, they dragged out phase one too long now its a struggle to be bothered leveling, got all chars to 25, now ima just do 1

if you're a casual, why are you speedleveling? You can just go do quests now that everyone's left Ashenvale.

I don't know if I can do it. I played phase 1 a bit, got a character to level 20 and it was a bit of fun, but I think maybe I'm finally getting tired of vanilla wow. I know SoD adds so much new stuff to make things a bit easier, but still.

which is why it's not the casual way to play. That's the hardcore way to play. You spell/melee cleave your way through dungeons in 10 minutes to get maximum XP per hour. It's how people got to 40 so fast and the reason their groups were all mages and warlocks. I did it for a bit to get started, from 25 to 28, and then I did a round of quests to chill.

They've destroyed classic. The current state of pvp is a nonsense. It feels like everyone is pompyro,too many runes,wtf is dispersion doing in classic. If they continue this path with is gonna be worse than SoM
