This video is a reupload of the video originally released in November 2021. The video was demonetised and marked as “18+ only” for ... I don't know for what. I did some minor change to the video and give it another chance. I do appreciate if you have watched this video once again, since it really helps with the channel’s overall performance. Also, a huge surprise is on the horizon for next week, Thursday. I can't provide any details just yet, but this will mark my first true collaboration on KZread.

I always wondered why that (in my opinion) one of your best video had many fewer years than most of your other videos, and why you kept changing the name and thumbnail. I hope this one can reach more people.

I agree, the Sputnik accent is much better. More authentic, that translator sounded like AI
That transition to the Mustard cameo was just buttery smooth. I myself have never had trouble understanding the accent. It actually makes it far more interesting, especially knowing your history. Your brain would have to be smoother than the cameo to not be able to understand the accent.

ummmm , no , the color of uniforms would have had little effect, it was superior German tactics that caused many enemy casualties. You know, Germans just love playing soldier ,whether it be lead soldiers on a table top or human lives in a field, German ruling class didn't care .

Many North Americans have a big problem with foreign accents. It seems to be only them.
As a lifelong Texan you are very easy to understand. Hell, you're easier to understand than some of my own family members. I found your channel yesterday and have been watching as much as possible. I think we're around the same age and having history from a different POV is great.
I love this era of the crazy men in their flying machines. Great re upload.

DO NOT voice over your own voice, ever, please. Your accent is totally understandable, authentic and just fits so well in your soviet videos anyways. I love it. Love all your videos and usually rewatch them after a few months anyways so the re-upload does not bother me in the slighest 😊 cheers, looking foward to the next one.
hey paper skies please never change your voice, i enjoy your narration thats the second reason i watch this channel bro (first is the intricate, unique, and in depth stories i enjoy learning so much)
The Mustard Cameo is incredible lol! Love your videos.

Scammers just pop open new accounts and multiple channel farms with AI posting repeated content as fast and hard as they can go, ENTIRELY against YT's so called "Community Guidelines" BUT... they generate watch-time, into the millions of hours and views per day... SO YT is reluctant to enforce or engage in their OWN rules to keep the platform clean, because (of course) money... It sucks, but here we are, and YT's chasing all the actual creators and real creativity off the platform. Credibility is deteriorating to nearly nothing... AND I'm even moving to a point that I almost don't even pay any attention if a creator doesn't put a HUMAN BEING WITH A FACE on the screen anymore. Paper Skies LUCKED OUT there... It's just apparent that you can't trust anyone not willing to be seen anymore... at all... and as I get to a place to justify it, I'll be moving on to Nebula, myself... Scroogle ruined YT. ;o)
The dark absurdity of this event is like reading one of Jacques Tardi's stories about Adèle Blanc-Sec
I was already re-re-re-rewatching all of your amazing videos, and it was this one's turn!
I really dig you sprinkling in clips from "Those Amazing Young Men and Their Flying Machines" in black and white in place of historical footage. Love that movie. Also, anyone who complains about your accent needs to expand their horizons outside of Mr. Beast and Markiplier videos.
As a matter of fact.... I just singed up for Nebula because of your past conent! So keep up the amazing work. I only wish sometime that you would post more.

As someone who really enjoys rewatching your videos over again because i just love your style i dont mind the reupload at all and i am even more excitied for a new video coming soon now.
Bro, your accent it awesome. I can understand you perfectly. Anyway awesome reupload bro. Your videos are always a treat!
Nah, this channel must have an accent...it gives it that extra charm.
Your voice is much preferable to any anglo voice-over narrator you could waste money on. The individuals who criticized you for it are simply bigots, and frightened of the slight effort it may take to understand anything beyond their own lilly-white picket fences. Your episodes are always well-researched, well-told, thought-provoking, and engaging. Thanks for your hard work to entertain us!
I never saw the original upload for this video. I am charmed that you got Mustard to do some narrating in this video. I adore Mustard and your channel. Cheers!
Excellent episode indeed and I truly “what if” scenario! This is a perfect example of how one relatively small incident could’ve changed history. I commend you on plucking this out of the history books.
11:12 I always like to impress on my children the huge casualties in WW1. They regularly attend pop festivals such as Glastonbury where the densely packed crowds of about 200,000 spread over many fields. It’s easier then to imagine what, say, 10,000 or 100,000 would look like in reality rather than a statistic. More difficult to contemplate them dead and that each would have a mother and father and most probably siblings and loved ones.

You do NOT need a voice actor. Your english is perfectly understandable and, at least in my opinion, your accent doesn't hurt your videos at all. To be clear, I've come across other channels with narrators that I couldn't say the same about. If you had a super heavy accent which made it difficult to comprehend what you're saying, that would be different, but you do not suffer from that issue. You speak english very well and obviously know the language very well. In fact, I think your accent gives your videos a bit of character and individuality. Keep doing what you're doing man. I for one am truly appreciative of the excellent content you provide to your community at no cost.
This video is great. I adore your work and style it makes all of these crazy events even better and more fun.

I recognized your voice on mustard's plane carrier video! Your voice is wonderful and as a native English speaker I find your accent endearing. No need for any VA.
I can only reiterate what others have said before me. I love your narration and the content of your video's. Don't change it!
Screw the algorithm, I’ve always enjoyed your videos! Some of the best IMO. Also, I think your accent is perfectly intelligible. Anyone who disagrees should use subtitles to become familiar with your accent.
Thank you so much for this video! It is always so fascinating to consider “what-ifs” Also your accent is brilliant, I have hearing issues so I always listen with closed captions on who ever is speaking but you are so clear I hardly ever need them on your videos.
I like your narration, and content. Thank you for reuploading. This is a very interesting topic.
Good video! Thanks!
I hope the voice We continue to hear is Your own. Good channel, I enjoy Your videos quite a lot 👍
I don’t hear so well anymore and if someone has a heavy accent, it can be hard to understand. I didn’t have any problem understanding you. And honestly, that voiceover sounded computer generated. I absolutely adore the story you presented! Thank you! New sub and I can’t wait to binge your channel for the next few days!
Your english is great and i have no issues understanding you. Keep it up man, i love your channel.
Lack of crowd control seems to repeatedly echo in history as the cause of easily-avoided but highly damaging mayhem.
Love your accent and your sense of humour
Guessing this video vanished before I discovered your youtube channel, so glad to get to see it.
Paper skies needs to make more videos. We need you to make more videos! 😅
dude, I love your accent, it gives your videos a certain unique charm I enjoy immensely
Something that perhaps most viewers do not realize is the pilot actually completed the “impossible turn.“ When an airplane makes a turn, it loses altitude. If an airplane loses power while taking off, there is usually insufficient altitude and insufficient air speed to execute a 180° turn. It seems that this fatal accident is the result of insufficient discipline on the part of the people at the event. If the airstrip had remained clear, the pilot could’ve landed the plane without harming anyone.
Excellent and very interesting video, I really enjoyed watching it 👍. Congrats and best wishes from Mexico City!
Love your vids bro I hope KZread stop demonizing your vids
Your accent is perfectly fine to listen to and your voice is pleasant, you don't need a voiceover
Never understood people hating on the accent. I can understand you perfectly fine, it's very rare, once in a dozen blue moons, that I need to run back and re-hear something. No to mention your voice is very smooth and soothing, and I often listen to your videos when I go to sleep. Amazong work! Not too mention, that Mustard jump scare made me think I might've accidentally swapped to a mustard video 😅
Again, not only is your accent not hard to understand at all (non-native English speaker here), but it adds character and fits especially to the videos about soviet aviation
This is my first time coming across your channel. I love this kind of content but subbed for the accent lol
Your voice is excellent and your English is better than most native English speakers. Part of what brings me back is YOU telling a story!
Two things. 1) You don't need a voice actor. 2) Poor Train. He really did his best to save people. He even managed to pull off the Impossible Turn.
your voice is magical plus the story and jokes
I like your videos specifically for your voice. It fits your content extremely well
New video on my favorite channel, yay!
Late to the party but wanted to add that your voice is excellent and your accent is endearing. Love the channel.
Will there ever be a Collab between you and Rex' Hangar? I'd love to see a Video featuring the best aviation youtubers, and i guess many more would also.
Please don't ever change your voice for some weird person in the comments. It sounds authentic and calming. It is so relaxing to be able to sit down after a hard day at work and watch a Paper Skies video with a cold drink in hand. Awesome work!

I watched the original upload. I'm still surprised this only received such a small view-counts. It's such a great video. I am surprised that KZread did not suggest the video. I am subscribed and only got to see the video just now. Really sad as your content is just remarkable.
You just have to hate those small extremely random chances within history that changes the course of history drastically...
Thanks!
I've never had trouble understanding your gently accented English--in fact, it seems particularly appropriate for narrating stories about Soviet SNAFUs.
Thanks. I love this sort of peek into history. It reminds me of the excellent essay, "On George Canting's Left Buttock and the Origin of Species" by Stephen J. Gould. The strange vagaries and wanton chances of history can only leave on with the impression that things could easily have turned out very differently. It sure beats history class in high school. tavi.
This couldve been an episode of Timeless, didnt knew about this event , thanks
Damn that’s the best crossover ever
Two points: 1. Blue jackets with red caps and trousers. It must have been like a pheasant shoot for the Germans. 2. The table circa 11.15 is rather disturbing. Probably more so if you are French but still disturbing to every nation involved. A thought: the butterfly effect sounds better than the reality.
The attempt to avoid crashing reminds me a bit of that Batman moment with the bomb.
Your voice is perfect and fits for your slavic/soviet heavy content.
I would LOVE for you, Disaster Breakdown, Mustard, and Mini Air Crash Investigation to do a collab!
With a crowd comes criticism, some constructive some not. Without your voice I don't think the channel would be the same. Keep being you!
Bro never change your voice for the videos, its a crucial part and of your channel and in a sea of muricans and british, its always nice to hear a slavic accent also its your trademark
very interesting- we cant usually see how connected to other events our experiences are
I like your accent and don't find it difficult to understand because you do a good job with enunciation and not speaking too quickly. It also goes great with videos about the Soviet Union.
This reminds me of the James Burke's 1970s tv show connections in which he showed how one thing leads to another.
woohoo new paper skies!
At treat to see the various video from commercial films , including 20th Century Fox’s ‘Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines’ and Kubrick’s classic Paths to Glory (both superb and definitely essential to watch of you’ve never seen them. Otherwise, this is an excellent, entertaining, informative video with a very likeable voice over, well done for ignoring the temptation to use a ghastly robot translation device or hiring a ‘professional voice over artist’, it’s perfect as it is mate.
2:00 LOL as the voice morphed into the narrator for Mustard videos.
I think u have a great voice. It's full of character
Well argued 👍
The issue on the red uniforms wasn't just one of honour/tradition/etc. There red dye used to make the cloth was expensive, and multiple people made a lot of money from it, money which then reached politicians in the "red for honour!" party...
I am Brazilian and, as such, so a native English speaker and I have absolutely no problems with your accent so please, continue with your great work. Hugs from Brazil!
Keep your voice. Your English is perfectly understandable and pleasant to hear. From 🇺🇸
Newfoundlander here. Those are pretty shocking stats at 11:15. Used to often use a ferry named MV Beaumont Hamel some years ago~
I like your accent. Your English is very proficient and equally easy to understand. My ADHD ass could listen to you all day.
Broo no hate to your acent, i love it !!
Frankly, I really enjoy your accent and gives your channel much more character and authenticity regarding Soviet content. Plus, I’ve never had any trouble understanding you, so a VA would be a complete waste of money.
I would not like your videos without your accent. Keep being yourself it is what makes your channel unique!
I love your accent man! Adds so much to the videos! Otherwise you'd be another one of millions of American sounding voices on the internet. You're unique!
I was one of those 80k viewers the first upload. Love this story!
I don't have anything smart to say, so I'll just put a comment for sake of algorithm. Keep up the food work, this is by far the most interesting channel on the platform

Wait there´s people that take issue with your accent? I really love the charm it brings to the videos, it amkes them stand out. That, and being an non-native english speaker I still have no trouble understanding the videos so, I really don´t see a problem with it.
I do not think in the battle of that age, clothing made so much of a difference (especially in winter, when everything had become the color of mud) a much more important part was the balance of those who were for the reform of battle tactics there were those who understood that the traditional methods of pitch battle was impossible with machine guns... but a lot of them, sadly, ended up on the (at the time) wrong side of the Dreyfusardian debate.
Always love your videos, here's hoping the evil bots give this one their good graces. Can't wait for your next upload!
Dude, we all love your voice.
I absolutely LOVE your accent! We are from many countries. The freedom people really need to sit down and eat their veggies, lose a few kgs and catch up to the rest of us.
I love your accent (idk how people say they have trouble understanding you, you just sound like any native Russian speaker) and the unique insider wisdom you have through your time growing up in the Soviet Union. The videos are also really interesting to me because like many westerners, Soviet and eastern bloc aircraft are really unknown to me
Great video we'll put together 👍
