Another great video. I think after 3 years I’ve finally got it sorted the way I like it. I do monthly or every other month and this gives me space for holidays etc because some months have 5 weeks. I still have under priced work that I took on at the beginning but slowly creeping the price up.

As you take on new customers the new price will balance things out. Then as the older customers drop off you replace with more better priced jobs. These things take time but you'll get it

I set those routines from day 1. 4 weekly only as I won’t make a trip to an area just for 1 or 2 that want 2 weekly. It just doesn’t make financial sense. My problem isn’t keeping customers. I’ve only lost a handful in the few years I’ve been running, it’s getting them in the first place. Marketing seems to be my downfall.

Knowing where you're weakest is halfway to finding the solution. Putting yourself in the customer's place and making yourself visible in those places will solve a lot of your issues.

If you have all your jobs booked in so regimented how do you manage bank holidays like the 2 we are about to have. It is tricky having different options like 2, 4, 8 weekly and as you say when you start you accept stuff you wouldn't now :-)

The best advice was 4 weekly, I have one 3 weekly and its a nightmare. If the costumer wasn't so nice I think I would have definitely dropped them by now. Having the business work for you is definitely the right way but not there yet where I can call the shots.

Great advice, I could tell you stories that would make your hair curl from here on the Costa, I'm digging out all non residents now, fed up people thinking it's ok to clean their glass Twice a year, its a public forum so I'll say no more, I also get, its ok this time, there ok, ie, so you only want me to clean your windows when they are dirty!!! I get that you think that way. But if you charge appropriately it can actually make your life easier. I suppose one of the challenges for you would be the language barrier. I'll be honest I don't know what the rules in Spain are for taking on employees, but I'm sure it's workable. How did you end up setting up in Spain ifnyou mind me asking.?

The bank transfer process isn't seamless; you have to wait for the customer to pay at their convenience. Additionally, there's the hassle of reminding those who forget, not to mention the inconvenience of keeping track of payments. While I know you're hesitant about GoCardless, it's truly the way to go. Also, if they miss a cleaning appointment scheduled every 8 weeks, we won't wait for 16 weeks; we'll do it the next time we're in the area, which is in 4 weeks.

We use gocardless, just not masses. Reason being a lot of customers being elderly perceive a lack of control. Never had major issues with bank transferring customers as they know what we expect...sending the occasional reminder is a button press on our app and hardly a hardship imo.

I wouldn’t fancy swapping all of my customers over to gocardless if I was already established. A lot of explaining. But all of my customers on this iteration of my business have signed up. It’s early days but I’m finding that it’s only stumbling block for a very small number of people. ( I see this as kinda pre-screening the customer anyway) I think the only exception I’d make is like Chris said, the customer is clearly very old and looks confused by talk of sending links and WhatsApp. Apart from anything else they should be wary of folks asking for bank details if they don’t understand the technology. Gocardless though, it really is a game changer for me. Can’t explain just how many Friday and Saturday nights Iv p1ssed away chasing money in the past.
