Here are 7 mistakes to avoid when writing your first screenplay. When I started writing my first featured length screenplay, I was a tad bit intimidated. The task seemed too large, it was almost menacing. Writing a script seemed so out of reach because I always thought it took genius intellect to be able to write a movie. But as I turned on my Google TV and scrolled over to Netflix and watched 10 minutes of their newest film, I was not so pleasantly reminded that I could write something 10x better than any Original they have released in the past two years. It doesn't take a mastermind to write a screenplay, it just takes someone willing to do it.
So the first thing you must have is confidence. Confidence is key. If Joe Shmoe down at Amazon can write a script, why can't you? You just need to start. In this video I give you the common mistakes I made while writing my first 120 page screenplay. I said "My First Screenplay" but it wasn't just mine. Nicky Russo wrote at least if not more than half of this script. It was a team effort, I am only speaking on the mistakes I made.
