No, Roblox is a really demanding game. Maybe on the lowest settings, you’ll get around 20-30 FPS.

I gotta say, that customer service from best buy was pretty good, he offered to price match 2 weeks ago. At my local worst buy I was told to go kick rocks, when I asked them if they could price match last weeks price on a gaming monitor. I even called the customer service line and they said there was nothing they could do. All that shit for the price to drop a week later to the same price it was on sale.

Could have done even better. Just stuck with the Core i7 920 or Phenom X6 1100T for the last decade. The performance increment from those CPUs is not that big compared to now.

That's actually a really good deal for what you got. I recently tried building a mid-ranged gaming pc, and when the parts were added up, I was paying over $800. That's quite a lot for mid-range specs. I ended up buying a HP Pavilion 690 series gaming PC (the mid-range version) and I paid ~$600 (on sale). The HP had way better components than what I was getting trying to build it myself. All I had to do with the HP was buy an SSD (I may also upgrade the RAM in tne foreseeable future). So deals do exist and you can actually getting something that's prebuilt with good performance.

The 750TI is a pretty good card, if you're on a budget. It's pretty good with a i3 8100, but it's not that good with a older i3.

I was subbed to Austin a few years back when I was building my first PC and one of his videos really helped me put it all together and know what direction I wanted to go. Back then he had a several thousand subs, coming back here and seeing he has 2mil is absolutely insane. He has great quality work and knows his stuff. I5 = 65w RX480 = 150w HDD = 10w The rest = 10w => 245w on peak. Well, 300w PSU sure can handle this, but I am much more cocerned about it's components quality.

PSUs in prebuilts are usually decent, and this is an 80+ Bronze unit and I'm sure it meets it's rating. I stuck an 8800 GTS 512 in an old HP with a 300W PSU and had 0 issues with it.

It could just be that the $1000 option you looked at included everything (monitor, keyboard, mouse). There's also the possibility that you are simply in a remote region - prices will be far higher in say, Hawaii, as opposed to Florida.

most companies inflate prices to an insane degree. Amazon is another example for this. They will legit charge you 1k sometimes for a pre-built PC with a 780ti. In 2018. The card is from 2011. Not that this is a bad card, I can even play games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Destiny 2 on very good settings, 1080p 60fps on my regular 780. But I should also mention that I've had this card for so long I know it inside and out, and I can manipulate the advanced graphics settings to match it's strengths and weaknesses. But still though, pricing on many retailers is crazy inflated.

Stop shopping at best buy. They sell only 2 sata cables and one cost 20 bucks for 1 set but micro center bot a 20 pack for 10 bucks. I went to best buy for a power supply and they only had 1 power supply. Plus they charge you 70 bucks to install ram. How do you charge 70 for a pushdown and click..............................................

A lot of OEM's use proprietary connectors for their PSU's (HP are notorious for this) so it's not always that simple

Ken, you really did a fine ass job! 2-3 years ago I purchased an IBUYPOWERPC ( I was a newbie and didn't have the knowhow). It had a GTX 960, FX6300, 8 GB of ram, and a 1tb hard drive. The fact you got a relatively modern i5 with an RX480 and a 1 TB SSD for $650 ( which is about the price for just the graphics card and SSD alone) is such an awesome deal!

Can I request a build. PS3 and/or PS4 inside a PC case. I'd love to see the difference in heat, performance, and looks compared to the original case. Maybe with different power supply, cooling system, and storage option(hdd, ssd, sshd.

Pixel wouldn't be possible cause the ps4 is optimized for the ps4 parts only. Pc parts are optimized for the pc so installing pc parts into a ps4 wouldn't be exactly easy

Never buy a prebuilt system for gaming or heavy workloads. OEM builds use custom motherboards that give you just the bare minimum and are often non-overclockable with little to no upgrade path. Sometimes they'll even sell you an OC-able CPU but a locked motherboard. It doesn't make sense but they do that sometimes. The GPU is likely what I call a "reject"(most people don't buy) brand/model that they slap in because it's cheaper than other more popular brands like MSI, Zotac, EVGA, ASUS, Gigabyte etc. What grabs peoples attention when buying a prebuilt system is big numbers. This is why OEM's put large HDDs and CPU's with lots of cores in systems but then cut down on most other stuff to make the buy seem like a good deal. FX processors are very popular in prebuilt systems because of their core count. Do I have to even mention PSU's? They're ALWAYS garbage. You get the bare minimum wattage.

AlienFreak69 I agree with the CPU thing, but a GPU can't be a "reject" If it says it's an RX 480 and runs at factory stock clocks, and actually has a RX 480, it'll perform like an RX 480. So you really can't call it a reject. Usually i5-6400s will be pretty cheap. Comparable to that FX 8350 garbage ass CPU.

Xepher cat It's a "reject" because it's a card that doesn't sell on its own. The parts in a prebuilt are usually parts that wouldn't sell on their own. It's still a good GPU since it's an RX 480 which is a good card. I'm saying it's usually the low VRAM capacity version and an off-brand you've never heard about or the stock AMD blower cooler which gets loud and is an absolute dust magnet. They're a pain to clean if you're the type that doesn't want to disassemble hardware just to clean it. Most people that buy a prebuilt, don't really clean their PCs on the inside. I really don't expect them to take the cooler off to get the dust out. You can get an i5 6400 in a pre-built but the ones I've seen were not cheap. $700+. If they're cheaper, they tend to not have a GPU or have a cheap old one. FX83XX isn't as bad as people think it is. It's an old CPU but it can pull it's weight. It should still run games between 30-60fps. It doesn't compare to Skylake, Kaby Lake though as those can pull frame rates 2x-3x as high. FX CPU's are low budget CPU's. You can get a mobo+FX8300 combo for $100-150. What can you get from Intel for that money? A dual core CPU without a motherboard.

yea, not to mention the crappy oem windows install that you have to deal with that limits your flexibility if you ever want to rebuild your machine. I really prefer the retail windows installs from a good old disk.. do they still even have those?

I’m getting my first pc do u think it would work to buy a decent prebuilt pc and upgrade it over time sense I’m relatively young and can’t spend wayyy to much all at one time

Going prebuilt usually means it will cost more. Going custom build means you have more to play around with your budget. Prebuilts sometimes have something proprietary like its motherboard and case design. Going prebuilt means your also paying the store for the labor they put to build the machine.

What are normal specs to get with around 1250 prebuilt or self made?
