So true. I have asked other content creators with a high number of subscribers for help and to subscribe to my channel, but they not only ignore to help me-they don't even answer me. I really enjoy this channel because Silver and Solo seem to genuinely care about people. It's hard to find that nowadays. I've been trying to grow my channel for months, and I'm stuck at 66 subscribers.

As someone who use to be a content creator.. don’t get lost in letting your subscribers dictate your channel. It will make you lose who you are. You will begin to feel burnout and no longer desire to make content.

That is really good advice. I will take that advice for my own self/channel.

Once or twice a month discuss a money topic. Some ideas, how much money I spent on groceries as a solo silver for June. How much money I spent on insurance a month. How I invest money as a silver solo. All things that we as soon to be retired need to know. Take us shopping sometime. Way to go Jen!

I also agree. I'd watch every single video on how to manage money. Like literally explaining to me like I'm five how to move money from my savings account into an index fund and maybe some T-bills. I have the money, but don't have a clue how to do that, and I DO NOT want to use some finance guy who will click a dozen buttons and expect a few grand for it. How to make yourself financially safe would be another one I'd love, if she knows about that. Like how to make yourself judgement proof. Or just anything else money-related. Really.

That's honestly amazing achievement, and thanks for providing your insight. Getting that first paycheck from KZread is one of my favorite memories. I still remember it, there was lots of emotions involved. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a little bit of Famester of course), I probably wouldn't have made anything.

I'm on a similar journey. I've been posting 2 times a week since late November 2023, and I got monetized last week - basically all off the back of a single semi-viral video (quite spectacular to watch the views rise!) However, the difference is that my channel is built around (my "niche" as they call it) reporting news. This means that almost none of my videos are 'ever green': if people don't watch with the first 2 weeks, they probably never will. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. Good luck with your journey.

I’m 53 and left the corporate world several years ago to start my own businesses. Neither have gone where I wanted them to go! Lol. The problem for me now is figuring out how to pick out what to talk about and who my audience would be. I don’t have much of life these days. I have a VERY small circle of friends. I’m a crafter that seems to like to research and buy stuff to make crafts more than I actually like to create crafts. lol. I would LOVE to travel but these days don’t have the funds to make it happen, not to mention I’m facing down some health issues. All that said, to say, I’m not sure how your videos ended up in my feed, but l’m glad they did and I just subscribed and have watched several of your videos!! Woo woo! Thanks!

Congratulations, Jen! I've heard creators say they average $300-400 per video when they have about 80k subscribers. You show that the amount can vary greatly per video. It's enough to make the time spent filming and editing worth it as a hobby that brings income, which is great. The average has to go up a lot to make this a creator's main job, but then they're also putting more time into it.

Congratulations! Here's my problem. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I don't believe this could happen to me. I'll keep watching you. I need dog and cat food, plus vet care for them. ❤

Hi Jen I just watched your video and I felt compelled to say firstly, boy did I need that. And secondly, you are incredibly likable. I just started my KZread channel a week ago and I have four subscribers and I’ve been furiously trying to figure out how to make content and then posting it. I’m doing pretty good for my first time, but lack of subscribers has me questioning if this is the right move.
