My son's fiancé did not want diamonds. She wanted intricate metal work with a sapphire the color of his eyes (that was her quote). He was able to do that for half of what a diamond costs and it is stunning.

Good for her not ascribing to traditional notions of what an engagement ring ought to be. IMO her take on it has more legitimacy than the standard practice.

If you go lab grown you can save a lot. I dropped about 3.5k and got a good deal compared to most retailers. U dont wanna break the bank but that ring is a representation of you when she interacts with people.
