Back when I used to build street motors, it was fairly common for us to get high rpm dips in power and torque like that. The reason for the dip was we were using intake manifolds or exhaust headers that were tuned for peak power in the ~4500 to 5000 rpm range, but we were revving the motor into the 6800+ rpm range. These manifold had a tuned flow resonance in the 4500 range, that helped to push or pull the air in/from the cylinders. At ~6800 they would enter a higher order resonance that impeded the flow, reducing the power and torque.

I thought that one too the other thought I had was any way the lifters collapse a small amount until the oil pressure goes higher cause loss of lift in the valve trane always wonder about that with hydraulic lifters when running heavy valve springs.

Please!!! "Hot tip", buy some muriatic acid, (Home Depot, etc.) Soak cadmium or zinc plated nuts, bolts, etc, "out side", in glass or a paper coffee cup. Pour acid back into container for reuse. In 30 seconds plating is gone. Rinse with h20, & dry. Now striped and ready to weld. Plus those vapors are DEADLY !!! Yah I know everyone is an expert, but I have been there and done that. Good luck, racer to racer, and thx for your content. Ty

In my humble opinion as a fan, I can say that to have a proper burnout car you need to have an engine you pay way too much for in a car you really hate to tear up. Then you have to spend more money to get really small tires. Huge expensive engine on skinnies. Then to compete you have to be willing to blow up the engine and completely destroy the car.

not at all. check out the aussie stuff, there's a science to it that americans really haven't figured out. a good example is luxifer where Kyle intentionally has it setup to pull power through the entire run to not overheat the engine. guarantee you'll see the junk crap that's being built here in the US for burnouts will drastically change in the next couple years with all the aussie burnout guys coming over here this year.

I used to race in junior dragsters and we put a throttle stop on my sister's car. 3/4 throttle actually made it go faster than full throttle. We went to a smaller carb which made it more consistent. Maybe that's what is happening here with the supercharger. The air and fuel is mixing better. Would have been interesting to see if it would have made more power at 80 percent or so compared to 100 percent wide open throttle

Great video! Looking forward to see it in action. Curious about the dip in hp, I once chased this issue at the same rpm it ended up being valve float. Once that got fixed the dip went away.

I have not finished the video. My money is valve harmonics. I may be wrong. Mikel
