Start in leasing next month! on average at your company do you find that the agents in leasing apartments in areas such as marina, downtown etc or in the villa communities are generally putting higher on the board each month €

Hey mate, a referral is when someone else (like someone in sales team) puts you in contact with an owner who wants to rent their property.

No you don’t need your RERA license before you start. I got mine like 2/3 months into the job. Any deals you close before that will go under your manager’s name.

Great insight Daragh, I’m moving in June to start with White and co. When you provide a good service for landlords, do you also ask them if they could refer you maybe to other landlords in the area that they know? Is common practise in other sales roles to ask for referrals from clients just wondering what your thoughts are in the real estate industry.

Great question bro. It happens a lot in Sales and is definitely a good strategy there. But in leasing, even if the landlord has friends who are also owners, the chances there unit is available for rent at that exact same time is slim.

Like you, I’m starting in leasing with a view to move into sales after around 6 months once I’ve banked a few quid, built up some contacts and become knowledgeable in my given area. If I see you out there I’ll say hi, although I’m going to be in that office 7 days a week for the first 6 months working my arse off haha! Best of luck mate

Monthly rent for a car I was paying around 2,000 AED per month. You can get cheaper options for closer to 1,300 AED but I’ve heard so many people complain about issues with car breaking down, etc. Better to spend more on a reliable one as it’s very important for the job. Gas is basically free 😂 I think it’s like 120 AED to fill full tank every week. And I usually work about 10/11 hours a day. And a couple hours here and there on the weekends

There were 7 people in the group who started with me in August. Only 2 of us are left at the company and both making similar money. So that’s around 30% of the people who joined, ended up “successful”. I’d say that’s a good gauge of the entire company for every group who joined after me.

I take it the company you work for is crucial in someways. Because most of them, the leads are done through cold calling? Could you clarify what you mean by prospecting?

Yeah I think I didn’t hammer this point home. Really crucial to join a company which has a strong leasing department which is separate to sales. This way you’ll be getting constant referrals from the Sales team. Prospecting is either cold calling landlords of an external database or cold calling landlords on our internal database.
