    great breakdown, i did this for years and was very vocal about how bad the pay was to other FAs. I realized turns, although not as fun, made me the most money. Its a weird and sometimes bad life work balance in the job (depending what u want out of life), total lifestyle.

I heard they take out more takes from those trips since there is no layover or the per diem is taxed The job is so flexible for me now. I only work 3.4 days a week and I love it. Quick question. You said in a previous comment only 6 days was “reserve”. Was this because you filled up your monthly calendar with trips yourself? And if I do this myself can I avoid the whole “waiting for a call”? I have a good shot with getting a CJO at United but would have to commute so this is important. Thanks!

  • @NicksDynasty

    @NicksDynasty

    2 жыл бұрын

    With my company junior FA are only on call 6 days each month. I'm not sure how United does it. While we are on call we can preference trips so we don't have to sit and wait but you are not guaranteed your preference. If you did commute you could get a crashpad or get hotel rooms for when your waiting overnight

    If you're on a 3-day Pairing, isn't your per diem (TAFB) calculated from initial check-in until last arrival time at base? Your Day 1 example of per diem for 11.03 hours seems off.
