The trailer is very misleading. I went with a group and we left the theater in shock. It's a slow burn that pays off midway through

i watched it yesterday and afterwards some reviews and read comments. i was somewhat bamboozled how mixed the reviews were and how different the points of critique were, how different people perceive the main characters or perceive the movies meaning or what the movie is about, what expectations they had and so on. i like the movie and i think its a good movie to talk about. the movie has some layers, some more obvious than others. and some layers absolutely no one seems to talk about, while the movie screams to notice them.

I still don't understand why people still use rotten tomatoes as a reference

or imdb....rot is everywhere.......the worst is when you find out that your favorite reviewers with which you were on same wavelenght suddenly favor utter shitshows....people are sellouts and AI will do what it is tasked with too.......

What do you mean? It's especially good as a reference, nothing more, nothing less. You can get a good gauge of how good or bad the movie is by using the site, but it's never the whole truth and you should always check reviewers that you know have similar taste to yours before you buy the ticket.

@@LurkingLarper "when you find out that your favorite reviewers with which you were on same wavelenght suddenly favor utter shitshows....people are sellouts" so much to the checking the known good reviewers and their taste..after they recommend depending on kickbacks...anyhow can not even recall the last time I bought a ticket.... only one that gives me shivers in the foreseeable future would be fede alvarez-es alien...maybe.....

@@radeksparowski7174 then the reviewers you followed were sellouts and you should ditch them. Most of mine haven't been. Chris Stuckman has a solid taste, Jeremy Jahns is a good vibe check and so forth. I can't remember the last time I was led astray by doing a bit of research into the movies before going to see them and I see one movie each month and have been for years. Last streak was quite something with Oppenheimer, Barbie, Poor Things and Godzilla Minus One all in a row. Quality stuff.
