Great episode again gentlemen. I am a general sales manager at a car dealership in Vancouver BC area. Been listening to your podcast since day 1. Feel the need to leave a comment today regarding your collective conversation about the car purchasing experience. Would love to give you guys all the insight you need to purchase vehicles effectively moving forward. For most people’s second biggest purchase in life. It is mind boggling how little people know about the process and how to protect themselves against unsavoury practices. Insight I can provide might be very useful to all your listeners. Nothing bothers me more than having a big portion of the population not enjoy the experience I try to provide on a daily basis due to a large percentage of dealerships conducting business like it is the 80s. I know you guys had another car guy on in the past but it was not very informative to listeners on how to navigate purchases and lease vs finance discussion. If you want to connect let me know how. I do not use social media.

I can both mathematically and anecdotally show that life insurance pays out at a much higher rate than prayer.

Studies have also highlighted that intercessory prayer does not seem to have any effect on survival from health issues (see "Study of the Therapeutic Effects of Intessory Prayer" in the American Heart Journal, 2006). So believe in prayer or not, get yourself some coverage.

@@TheGreatAgnostic astounding that research had to be done to determine this, but maybe they were hypothesizing a placebo effect of sorts?

Good question! Actually what they did was a randomized control trial with three groups: no prayer, yes prayer and knew about it, and yes prayer but didn't know about it. Almost equal results except that the ones who knew they were prayed for ended up slightly less well.

Somewhat refreshing to see the guys "unprepared" for an episode. It makes me feel like my questions are not as idiotic as I think they are.

Interesting episode guys. Question: Does the calculus on permanent life insurance policies change at all if held within a corporation and so benefits from a tax deduction on the premium (but not any additional over contributions)? Thank you!

52:32 lolol Cameron in a Stallone's 1986 _Cobra_ movie intro vibe here _"In North America . . . One third of people will have a disability lasting greater than 90 days before they reach age 65 . . . 1.56% of fifty-eight-year-old men will die during the next year . . . 64% of people can't come up with $500 in cash for an unexpected expense . . ."_ _This summer . . . Cameron Passmore is Marion Canucki, a tough-on-losses advisor who only invests by his own rules, and he is about to take head-on Canada's (lack) of financial planning . . ._ [Movie tagline: Your finances are a disease. Meet the cure.]

I'm honestly shocked at how much insurance you guys have. We only spend $55k per year... To get $4m of life insurance we'd have to spend an extra $2.5k pa, and I don't know what my wife would do with $4m anyway, we're simple people. To me, you should only have enough insurance to make sure that you can't be ruined financially by mishaps like disability or a house fire. I'm not interested in seriously penalizing our current selves so that my wife might get a huge windfall one day. I would rather keep expenses as low as possible while living a good life, eliminate debt and build a portfolio so that life insurance isn't required at all.

Mark clearly bought a dud of a condo if he saw little capital appreciation between 2016-2023. Never buy a pre-sale. They are a scam, period.
