Not really. They also have taxes and everything since they are only paid per content, this is basically commissions. they arent hourly like doctors or polices so actor’s salary aren’t actually that good especially its only per episode/movie

because entertainment pay is based on popularity and how much actors make for their employers. it’s not the same for doctors, etc. because they don’t generate that kind of revenue. you’re not gonna be able to increase their revenue by bringing down actor pay either so what’s the point?

Tbf, at least with film, some actors work from morning till midnight and might even have to do certain things to change themselves permanently just for a role. It actually requires work most of the time lmao. And most actors don’t even get paid that much, most make minimum wage. Celebrities make millions, not the average actor. And, maybe stop contributing to an actors pay by watching movies and any kind of entertainment If you hate it so much 🤭

Because being a actor can be hard most recording sessions can take 12 hours and you still have to rehearse your lines then do some stunts maybe and in Wednesday jenna had to learn like fencing also how to play that instrument idk what it’s called and she had to be up at like 4 am doing all of that and some movies take a year or more to produce so imagine trying to do all of that for a year or more and tell me how it affects you

Why are the arts so under appreciated. I hardly doubt that after a long and stressful day, the first thing you pop open is a history book. I think people forget that every celebrity we see has a whole team of people that need to be paid as well. She probably has a talent agency, stylists, hair and makeup team, manager and assistants. Some actors work over 24 hours on set, doing vigorous stunts and training. Developing professional acting skills alone takes years and talent. Some actors even go as far as to changing their bodies or serious method acting to get into character that could permanently affect them. I’m saying as an actress (theatre) myself, it’s not easy at all. It actually requires work hun lmao

You think it's huge, but they likely have to pay their own managers, stylists, etc. It takes a long time to shoot one film/drama. They also have long breaks in between their works. Lastly, press/promo work is usually included in the contract.

You do know most actors don’t even get paid 100 grand for a movie they had to work 6 months or more for each day and get up at like 4-6 am learn new skills and others you literally only get paid that much if you are a celebrity

She is also going to be making 250,000 dollars per episode for Wednesday season, probably because of the things she has to go through to play Wednesday, Jenna deserves more

You forgot she was in little rascals save the day was one of the first projects when she was a little kid

I had a girlfriend that had a small part in a movie. She was up at 3am on set by 4 and I was lucky to see her by 9pm . She'd lay in bed working on the changes for the next day worst 3 months of our relationship 😢

this comment section bothers me fr. most actors are not paid nearly this much. the entertainment and arts industries are incredibly difficult to succeed in, and the people who do deserve every penny they made from that. just because the impact they have is different from the impact other jobs have doesn’t make them unworthy of the money they earn.

Even as a conservative person myself I feel that actors are paid way, way too much money. Acting is not an easy job for most but it's definitely not a hard job by any means, and it has very little value in terms of contributing to society. It's ridiculous, really.

Firstly, acting isn’t easy coming from someone who does it theatrically. It can require hours upon hours of training, vigorous stunts, you name it (and I mean over 24 hours. I’ve had 12 hour rehearsals before, not in any way “easy”. ) Second, then don’t watch any movies. No more music, no TV shows, no nothing. Life would get pretty miserable. Yes, acting, just like any entertainment, is important to keep us sane 😭 most people wouldn’t last a day without any art form because life would pretty much be nothing. And yes, acting/performing, is an art.

Most work minimum wage as a waiter trying to make a living, and praying they make a big debut. To generalize all actors getting paid this much is stupid. CELEBRITIES get paid this much, not every actor. Most actors either get paid very little, maybe enough to pay a months rent, or nothing at all. That being said; the average doctor or first responder probably gets paid more than what you’d consider the average actor (aka: a hopeless waiter)

Yes they may be 'glorified' but sometimes people watch movies solely for an actor and not the movie itself, those actors then get paid for that extra money brought in just by them being there. that is why i said that. Yeah i agree, there are jobs that deserve it way more, but actors just end up getting much. I'm sure you've watched a piece of media with actors in it before that you enjoy. those actors put in effort and are paid accordingly. If they weren't, the entertainment industry would fall because people wouldn't be earning enough money to support themselves as actors.

Well, most actors don’t even get paid millions. Most make minimum wage at most as a waiter because they don’t get paid barely anything with acting alone. Remember, CELEBRITIES make millions, not the average actor. The average doctor makes way more than the average actor. And maybe stop contributing to their salaries by watching any kind of film or entertainment if you hate it so much. After all, you’re feeding their pay by doing it.

Yeah some do most actors get paid like Minimum wage only celebrities get paid the amount of money the video showed and the average doctor makes way more than the average doctor and some actors do deserve the money they get because most movies take like 6 months at minimum to make for it to be good and most recording sessions last 12 hours or more also they have to wake up at like 4-6 am and do all of that also get makeup done be in uncomfortable clothes sometimes and learn skills that can take weeks if not months to learn and do insane stunts

She deserves this I’m so happy she’s making it big ❤

@@TheRed02151nah she does deserve more than that because it took 1 month for each episode (they have 8 episodes) and she also had to learn how to do fencing how to play the cello I think that’s what it’s called and she had to be up at like 4 am to film and put on the makeup and stuff so imagine having to do all of that for 8 months and to just be paid what the average doctor gets paid

X had a budget of 1 million. i doubt half of that was her pay lol She probably earned a lot more from wednesday season , especially as they actively [persued her for the role,. 40-60k an ep is more small network level pay like the CW.
