The costs to seniors is ridiculous. I am the type of person that AVOIDS doctors at all costs. I was on Medicaid and never went. I lost Medicaid this year and unless I am dying, I don't plan on seeing a doctor. But let me tell you, if I have to pay 400.00 a month for A, B, X, Y, Z, I will go to the doctor for a splinter 😂

We understand! Many seniors see providers more often once they have this smaller deductible.

Excellent video again. Just got Part B (after a few delays) and they started me Jan 1 when i told them emploiyer insurance ended Jan 31. Ugh. They say I have to withdraw and do all over... No Thanks!. Also seems they are going to bill me the $174,... but I am in a higher income so suspect they will raise that later... Thanks about the appeal thing!

Is the first year on Medicare typically more expensive if a person was working up until 65? Since Medicare costs are calculated using the previous 2 years of income?

That is true but you can go to social security to get a reduction by proving you retired. IRMAA surcharges. You will have to do it again the next year. I did it and it was easy. Just bring proof of retirement and new reduced income.

Is there a quick down and dirty formula as to what is taken in consideration for IRMAA. All I can say is I'm glad I'm retired from the Navy and will only need A and B and won't need Part D or Medigap.

So after being told my entire life that when I turn 65 my health coverage will be free, it turns out that it will cost me at least $174 a month and that is without drug coverage?
