They charge you 10 cents per canand you have to spend all of this time getting your money back, better off without bc scrapyards will pay you for the aluminum cans, foil or any other metal

Just go to a recycling center. They’re everywhere. They buy aluminum buy the pound, not per can tho. I believe here in Colorado it’s 79 cents per pound

I live in Oklahoma but manage to do this by taking my aluminum cans to a scrap metal shop and melting my tin cans into plates and taking them to a scrap metal shop. Pays less, but still a decent way to make money. Basically there are 32 cans in a pound and they pay me 0.63/lbs so an awful lot less but it works ig

I did this in high school and I never regretted it

I live in Oregon aswell I am 12 and I started recycling cans since I was 9 I love it and also I am helping clean up the environnent

Here in California you can find coupons for some recycling center you can double your profit you can turn $40 in recyclable into $60-$80

@@marvinhobson look through your news paper or look for one of those little news stan that takes quarters looks for a magazine filled with ads and coupons there should be at least one or two usaly it tells you witch center it's for and how much more they pay I live in LA so I have no idea if they only do this in my region or the whole state also you might have to go through the Mexican magazine to find the coupons I hope this info is useful to you.

Not all states charge 10c. I made the mistake of buying a bottle of coke in Iowa and was charged 5c. In Michigan where the charge IS 10c, you can reclaim at most $25 at once in bottle deposits.

I went and sold and got about 30-45$

In California there is a five cent deposit fee for bottles and cans I been collecting a lot of bottles and cans and made 30 bucks

Ive been telling people about this for years ...kid we are the ones who will truly change this world ...and making a good living doing this ....i enjoy it and passionate about telling other people as if im a biblical person and spreading the gospel 😂 im not perfect but its interesting to view it that way kinda funny how god works

We go to Michigan quite often and I save my cans for that!

Also cali has a plastic bag and bottle tax that you have to pay every time you get groceries or get bottled water. It’s about $0.50 that they tax you so you would be making some money back if you do this but you probably won’t get as much.

i think you should save them when you buy the can to drink the content. I guess is about mitgating the costs since youre getting money back.

I live in Washington. We don’t have this, but I do crush all aluminum and tin cans and take them to the scrap yard. Last time I took a load I made $50.

You would make alot more, if y crush those aluminum sida cans. It will allow you put more cans in those big bags and make each bags heavier which will give you a better payout. I used to recycle aluminum cans, we would crush them and take to recycle center for payment. Crush can standing up (vertical, bag will weigh more per lb). Don't lay cans on side and flattened, will make bags per lb lighter and take twice as much to fill bag all way up. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to help Planet 🌏 to stay clean, have fun, and get compensated for doing it.

But wait, it’s not making money when you buy it from the store and pay a deposit, it’s called getting your money back.

😂 our scrap yards in South Africa 🇿🇦 pay 5 rand per kilogram which is about $0.27 and these are light so it’s takes lots of time 😂

Sorry but I think the only states you can recycle cans for money are California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, and Vermont

What about Missouri

How long did it take for you to find those cans did you find them did someone give them to you how much did you pay for those plastic bags how much gas did you use to transport it to the recycling center. You have to take that into account so yes you made $40 what was the profit. Now if someone transported it for you you didn't have to do gas if someone gave you those bags you don't have to pay for. For you it was probably pure profit 100% but not for everybody that's nothing if you had to put that back for gas

POV: u live in one of the places up there and have already started saving cans and bottles 😂👹

20 min to place them in machine to be counted. But how much time did it take gather them all? Time is money and honest labor is rewarding... No matter how long it takes.

Yeh its not something you can do everyday or even week lol unless you really out there looking for them , I usually recycle once or twice a year and I crush all the cans so save space and to makes the bags heavier , I’ll save them for about 6-8 months and get back $300-$400 which isn’t crazy but it’s nice extra cash for just saving your cans and bottles

20 minutes ? That’s gonna combine into hours of sorting your garbage and 10 dollars worth of plastic bags to hold it You’re making 40 bucks for 3 hours of work once every year This is not practical.

Or, you can save 100% of this money but demanding your state government remove the tax they impose on these cans and bottles. It’s not free money dude, that $40 was just returned to you after all that work.

You're just getting the extra 0.05/0.10 cents extra they charge you when you purchase whatever was in the containers. 🤷 So you're not actually "making money" you're just getting it back. ... unless you're grabbing up cans, bottles from other places, which you never spent that extra money for. and, as long as you're obtaining them legally you're fine. Like, you can't just go around grabbing them from people's recycling bins... And in many states, you have to return these cans/bottles to the specific store they were purchased from, They won't take any from other stores. When you go to a recycling center, you won't get as much as they go by lbs not each individual can/bottle

go knock at peoples house and ask for theyre empty cans and bottles for the whole day and youll get around 100 to 200 bucks per day.. ik what ima do tomorrow ig:)

Bullcrap big guy i had about 75 lbs in my weekly beer can collection after two years i got 17$

Bro not really worth it, 6 packs usually around 3-6 bucks nowadays and thats only ¢60

It wasn’t as easy as you made out it probably took you days to find all them cans so not worth the money you say

You made 40 bucks in over 3 months... Thats just not worth it, 1 dollar per bottle and its SOMETHIN, but i dont know many people who drink more thhen 2-3 bottles/cans of anything fully empty..

The process of gathering forty dollars of recycled containers is not EASY be prepared to spend several hours driving to select locations and don’t forget to deduct the cost of gas. Trust that it will not be easy to get forty bucks. Note; recycle centers won’t pay 10cents per item but 10 items per day ,making it inconvenient to make more
