Back in the day, some folks were running Pro 5.0 with a stock block at 770hp. We all knew it was going to explode one day, it was just a matter of when. FTR, 1989 is the baddest year no matter what. Most aggressive stock cam and precision media cast intake before ford went to sand cast. Everybody with an 1989 dominated right out of the box. The fabled 87-88 speed density cars didn't pull as hard. Close, but not good enough. We had many on fresh gatorbacks running high 13s. Drive it like you stole it...

I'm making 600 rwhp on a stock block 306 with a T-trim Vortech (Renegade pulley 19lbs of boost) and Trick Flow heads, even while using a GT40 intake and shorty headers, but I did split a few blocks along the way.

@@BrotherTom Thanks for the feedback. Is the e85 known to stretch the limits of the bottom end slightly in the fox world? On other manufacturers where you might have a block/gasket/rod or piston limitation on 93 octane, the e85 stretches it out a little bit more due to being extremely resistant to detonation and running cooler. So on the manufacturer i'm thinking about it lets those guys run another few psi very safely, where if they ran 93 octane, they'd bend a rod, destroy a piston or blow the head gasket.

We kept my brothers 95 gt with the exact same set up as you @430whp to have that 70whp cushion which is where these blocks tend to break. • @BrotherTom

A lot of the "500hp issues" come from over revving these motors. The stock internals were not meant to go 7k rpm. If you keep your shifts under 6500 rpm (my MSD rev limit is set to 6200) and have a good tune your motor should be fine. Now that being said, the tuner I use usually gets you 'that number' and then pulls a degree or two of timing so that you don't get silly on a hot summer day and blow up your motor. @@BrotherTom dam . I got for a new tune Tuesday stock bottom end on 11lbs made 448 wheel last summer dude never dyno tuned it just said he “dialed” it in on the stand. We shall see if the bottom ends holds up I’d be happy with 500

@@matthopkins1107 bottom end will be fine. It's usually the RPM that will kill the motor so be sure you keep it under 6500. Good luck! I bet you get closer to 500!

guys all this talk about these stock blocks splitting is a lie it all depends on the tune , and timming , richerd holdner proves that in his dyno videos, conserve timming and good fueling can see easy 600 north of horsepower, but no more than 650.

I agree. I think it’s usually spinning these motors too fast with stock internals. I stopped at 495 just because with my combo and 60# injectors that’s about as good as I was going ti get. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Richard's videos are with no accessories spinning and no driveline loss and in many cases he just has straight headers. 600-650 on his dyno the way he tests isn't much above 500 rwhp in a car. It's the difference in the way he tests which is why bone stock 225 hp 302s.make 260 hp on his dyno. It's always been around 450-500 rwhp. You can go beyond that but you really gotta have good fuel and good tune and watch your rpms. If you're trying to spin it to 7k it prob won't last. Everyone always brings up Richard's videos like that is proving something different when you do the math his limits are about the same as the 500 REAR WHEEL limits everyone has always talked about. He says this in his videos people just dont listen.

Yeah I agree. Revving too high and / or lean fuel up top is what will hurt the motor. Thank you for your comment and for watching 👍🏻

Thanks for watching anyway, I know my videos aren't for everyone. I did put chapters in this video so you can jump right to the dyno portion without having to listen to me babble.
