Also depends in if they are 2 or 3 string bales.

This is hilarious it's sometimes $30 aud or $22 usd a bale for alfalfa in Sydney Australia.

WOW that's crazy how do people afford to feed

Over $10 a bale holy crap! I inherited 4 Morgans recently and we've got about 4.5 acres of alfalfa hay field which can generally get us through the winter (we take the 2nd/3rd cut), but I decided to buy some extra hay this spring because my pastures are a little run down. I paid $6 a bale, and I remember thinking that was higher than I remembered years ago. When my horses aren't getting turned out at all I'm generally feeding 1 square bale split between the 4 per day (starting to wean that down as the weather/grazing gets better now). That's what I remembered my Dad doing years ago when I lived at home.

use wood pallets works great on a dry area u still might get some white mold on the bottom of the bottom bails pretty common hope that helps any questions let me know

Here in California in 2022 we pay $25-$30 bucks a bale!

OMG REALLY !!!!!!!!!!! its getting high here now anywhere from 6 to 8 $ a bail i could not feed horses for that

@@FernvalleyFarm it's ridiculous. 😔 $6.89 a gallon for gas and $25-$30 for a bale of alfalfa is not fair at all. We can't even find grass hay on a regular basis.

no i feed a 20% grain mix also depending on the time of the year

I'm buying large round bales for $45 a bale.

Wtf

1lbs hay:10lbs horse. Then 1000lbs horse just 10lbs hay? U just said 5lbs morning, 5lbs at night. 0:28

Right that's the total for the day but it could be a little more or a little less depending on the animal

yeah if a thousand pound horse is eating 10lbs a day, then that's 1lb for every 100lbs of horse.
