    I've been using 3 in 1 oil on poppet guns for years. Never had a problem. The 33 is my favorite grease for my gtek. Both are very affordable and last an incredibly long time.

    I have a Dye Reflex 11 - last time I played was 2013 so I cleaned and greased my gun before storing not knowing that was the last time I would have a chance to go. Fast forward to this year 2021 and my nephew is old enough to go now. I pulled my Reflex and other Dye guns out inspected the bolt, aired it up and went to town like I just played the week before. Point is the Dye slick lube (pretty sure it's Dow 33) was perfect after 8 years. My spyder "emergency" and friend markers had all their o-rings blasted to bits. All 3 spyders I had needed 100% rebuilds as their lube is more an oil

    Only use the best. Super Lube. Their multi-purpose synthetic grease and oils are the best for orings and paintball in general. It protects orings from friction damage and make them last longer if using co2. If you're using a mech marker that has some metal internals the oil also prevents oxidation of parts. I even use a little bit on barrel and asa threads to prevent them from damage or getting seized up.

    When I used to play with a DM5, I greased it after each day. But if you put in too much grease, it leaked... Now with my Geos I grease them every five cases or so. Modern spoolies are just way more reliable than they used to be. The GTek runs with peanut butter in a pinch (not recommended)!

    Hey bro the guy at the shop sold me a Etha 3M and told me I should clean/re-lube after around 5,000 shots. I went out a week ago shot about 2,500 balls and just cleaned outside of the gun and inside the detents. I pulled the bolt and it was still lubed and did not look dirty with any debri/dirt. Im going out again in a week and am wondering if you think I should clean and re grease before going back out? Or you think I will be fine.

    Sup!! my Tippmann Cronus came with very thin oil, and of course the bolt is not removable, but the manual recommends for oil to be applied onto the needle valve of the CO2 tank, so that the oil will be 'sprayed' thru the chamber and arround the bolt...this seems a little odd to me, what do you think? I love this gun...it just shoots! so I'm not too worried about it. thanks for the great videos!

  • @ashravenpb

    @ashravenpb

    feels good in the hands, but doesn't shoot as smooth as the gs and there aren't any bolt upgrades for it. Plus all the o-rings are in the body so they are a real pain to replace. So if you want something that can shoot quickly and feels like a high end then it'll be a great gun for you.

    Eh plenty of other markers use this method, just depends on how the guns were designed. AKALP markers use oil exclusively, no grease even in the solenoid.

  • @thegreatbuff
    @thegreatbuff7 жыл бұрын

    not necessary to put a couple drops of oil into the regulator ? just grease the bolt?

  • @maxxon99

    @maxxon99

    Don't put oil into the reg in an electro! It can collect into the solenoid and gum it up.

  • @PaintballRuinedMyLife

    @PaintballRuinedMyLife

    7 жыл бұрын

    Really matters the guns, with the Gtek and Victor in the video, oil is bad. It ends up going into the solenoid and the solenoids are not designed to take the liquid. On regulators you should also be using grease, but they only need fresh grease every 40k shots of so.

  • @crash86ed

    @crash86ed

    7 жыл бұрын

    @Paintball Ruined My Life like you say it does depend on the gun and the solenoid exclusively. AKA excaliburs and vikings used oil exclusively for the entire marker and MAC or humphrey solenoid(s). Right into the ASA, just like an automag, tippmann, etc. The concern with most of them these days is probably that the oil will actually degrade the grease, and once the oil is used up the solenoid would be insufficiently lubricated.

    Love your videos! Quick question. If I put a little too much grease and there is a little bit of a film in the barrel, do I just use a barrel maid to clean it and keep playing or do I need to stop and wipe off and re-grease?

  • @ashravenpb

    @ashravenpb

    clean the barrel with a barrel maid. Then when you get home just soak the barrel/pods/swab in warm soapy water let them dry, then run your clean, dry barrel maid through it again.

  • @ashravenpb
    @ashravenpb7 жыл бұрын

    IMO your lubing the bolt too much. Your O-rings should be shiny , but you shouldn't be able to see any lube on it. When you use that much lube then you end up shooting it out the barrel, which is almost as bad as a barrel break. So unless you fire a few shots through it then clean the barrel I would recommend using less lube.

  • @PaintballRuinedMyLife

    @PaintballRuinedMyLife

    7 жыл бұрын

    Either way is probably, fine. Taking apart guns from the manufacturers, they all use about as much grease as I did. I don't think I have every experiences so much grease in a gun that it ends up in the barrel and starts shooting all wonky.

    The factory adds alot of lube because they dont know how long the marker will sit before its bought and used. Also never lube the front oring on the bolt. It doesn't seal and it will spray lube down the barrel.
