Thanks for video! I was wondering if 1/2 " was thick enough but now you taught me it is. I appreciate how you saved material using your design. Thanks again! 👍🏼

Glad the DIY videos are helpful. Check out the racks with built-in pull-out tables.
Great video
Very good idea putting this video out Kai. Letting people know the cost of building your own rack system and also letting them know that the cost of materials differs depending where you live.
Definitely do more videos like this. Show off your builds, snakes, tub size etc. Answer the most frequently asked questions. 👍👍 Also great video as always.
excellent insight thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your kind words
I need to redo my rack over and go with pvc this time. I'll look at one of youe older videos on the measurements to decide which way to go.

I'd like to use FB tubs on a future build. I'm looking for something between 12qt and 28qt. Mainly for adult males and girls that are not quite breeding size.
Nice! I've priced a rack the same size you have and your really close to the price i got. I'm in Florida. Thanks for the info!

That's reassuring. Thanks!
AWESOME video Kai !!! 👌🏼 Excellent breakdown, I experience the same thing when building my racks. 1 sheet of 1/2" PVC 48" x 96" (4' x 8') gets me 12 pieces at 15 3/4" x 24" for $137.32 (with cuts, they charge per cut) and I only use 11 pieces for a 10 high FB20 rack. Four 5" x 3" PVC planks for the up rights at each corner at $20 each ($84.76 with tax) plus $69.45 for 20ft of 6" flexwatt heat tape , and with wood & casters for the base it's about $320 for me to build a 10 high FB20 tub rack & I have one 15 3/4" x 24" piece left over. Which is the Exact same size of 1/2" PVC I use for the shelves in my juvenile racks with 12qt tubs. 👍🏼 I usually have some left over material that gets used for the next rack to be built. KEEP up the GREAT work bro, I Love the DIY videos. I think an update video to the backup power supply for emergency situations is in order. 😁

@@LucasLandonRoyals it holds 10 tubs, I've built 2 so far.
Name of that plastic material please
I always knew that this racks are just overpriced PVC.
Hi dude hope your doing well
How do you keep the heat from escaping when you leave a gap
@mrmouse-ol9pw
Жыл бұрын
What gap? The heat tape will be up against the bottom of the tub all ur doing is transferring heat to the tub/substrate in the warm side

@@mrmouse-ol9pw the gap I'm referring to is between the front post and rear post on the side panels
@mrmouse-ol9pw

@@RisingSunSerpents-Jesus I can see the concern but again as the heat tape is directly against the tub it's not a big deal. Thats why u always temp your tubs, because your thermostat may need to be higher to get belly heat where u want it. Heat tape doesn't do a whole lot for ambient temp imo
I come from the future, plywood is no longer cheaper than pvc 😅

Pvc cost increased too. Haha. I hope the prices go back down. I have so many projects lined up.
Great explanation.
