​@@nowadays8774 army looks after the family, a soldier family (parents,wife, children) gets free of cost medical treatment in any hospital all over India through their ECHS card, they get discounted grocery and home appliances through army canteen which is present in almost all cities , they can also get loans on much low rate of interest if they want, they also gets free accomodation when the soilder is serving in army.

This salary was in 2010, with other perks like 100 people working for your 2 personal security guards, 1 bungalow, 1 car for service, Office, helicopter if you wan to travel high areas, canteen facilitates to buy things without tax like household items or even a car, respect, and a service gun just like a IAS or IPS (both are UPSC).

Upsc doesn't mean civil services exam only upsc conduct various exam and cse is one of them and others are NDA CDS capf and many more major is talking about either NDA or cds and cracking written exam in 3 month is possible but real difficulty one face in ssb interview so guys chill upsc doesn't mean cse everytime

The CDS (Combined Defence Services) Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission You clear the exam, and get called by the SSB (Services Selection Board) for the service/force you selected in your application. After clearing the SSB, you undergo a thorough medical examination and then based on your score will be added to the merit list. If you make it to the merit list and the academy has a vacancy, you get a joining letter to the academy. After undergoing rigorous training, if you have cleared your training and academics as per required standards while also maintaining required Medical and Physical fitness (Mental fitness is tested and built throughout), you get commissioned as an officer in one of the Indian Armed Forces. UPSC conducts both CDS and CSE.

@@darkjunior-156 Total in hand cash you get is a combination of all allowances, every officer of the same rank doesn't get the same salary, it depends upon their posting, duty and field role (like infantry, aviation, artillery, armoured corps). Basic pay remains the same throughout the same rank. A major of an Armoured corps unit in remote Rajasthan draws higher pay than an infantry major posted in Bangalore. For ex: if you are posted in a remote field area with no family housing, you get "dearness allowance", if you don't get your living quaters in the cantonment, you can write off the cheque to your CO to get allowance for rent outside the cantonment. Refer to 7th pay commission for central government employees.

India needs such people more nowadays

He probably had not worked in corporate for more than a year. So, entered army around 22-23 or earlier . After serving for 12 years he is probably below 35.

It like Basic 56000 + DA@ 42% _23000 + HRA 7000+ Military Services Pay 15500 + Travel Allowance 3k + small allowances. So you get around 1.06 lakhs. It again comes up additional allowance which varies based on you on entry tech and non tech. Again if you're in field you will field ares you will get 1field allowance + High Altiude 5300. Technically it goes around 1.10 to 1.40 lakhs depending about the roles/ areas/expertise you have.

Leautinent salary today =125000. Army officers/jawans are paid highest salary among equivalent govt jobs in India. Still some dumbs who don't even earn 10k say that defense personnel are paid less.

That is not the salary now. It is 80000 for Lieutenant and 1 for captain, 1.3 for Major.

Never ask an army officer his earnings because behind his sacrifice is pure patriotism and not some bills. The respect he gets can never be earned from money.

For those who don't know UPSC is a exam conducting body like NTA and SSC, Major saab is talking about CDS exam which is conducted by UPSC after graduation one can appear in this exam after clearing exam you have to clear SSB (a 5 day interview process and obviously a hard nut to crack) to make it into the forces.
