I'm starting to see why some people joke that the whole of 40k (and ESPECIALLY 30k/Horus Heresy) is just 'Daddy issues the Wargame'. Loyalist legions have "Big Daddy E." These guys have "Big Daddy Abaddon" ...how many "Big Daddies" are there, Kierans??

How many chaos armies is too many? Already have Death Guard and Thousand Sons, was saving myself for some Emporers Children when they come along, but Black Legion is just so cool looking. 😢

I wouldn't say too many, but too few... after Black Legion that list demands World Eaters just for the sake of completion.

This was a nice video! I'm what youd call "CSM-Curious", but with Age of Sigmar 4th edition on the way I will *NOT* be pulling the trigger on this army any time soon. But its good to know, even if I'm not interested in Black Legion. Now, even though I am excited to see where this 4-part Chaos epic leads, I'll admit, I still want to see a video like this AoS armies as well. Perhaps for Stormcast and Skaven? But Id understand if you'd rather wait on their post launch box wave of models to come out, there will probably be a whole lot of refreshes for older kits on both sides.(also, side note, we got sneak-peeks that secind wave yesterday if you weren't aware. And the models they showed look sick af, I'm just sayin') Finally, if you'll permit me. . . Another ramble in addition to the ones I already went on above, I'd have to push back against the idea that "You can't have any form of Chaos list without Abadon". Not only for the obvious reasons like Abadon only being usable in regular 40K, not any of the side games with Chaos Factions, the or AoS, or even in main 40K there's the mono-God legions and Chaos Daemons. As far as I know you cant ally him into any of those, even if you want to. But even if we're just talking CSM only, no other Chaos factions in 40K, I don't want him in my lists. If I get a CSM army I'd want to play Iron Warriors, not Black Legion. So regardless of mechanical or lore relevance, I would say that you absolutely *CAN* have Chaos lists without Abadon in them.

Yeah you really don't need Abaddon at all tbh, the chaos book is more than versatile enough. Also I'm sure we'll be doing the army costings for AoS too!

The main thing i find confusing about the Legionaries is that Gdubs doesnt just release "flavoured" boxes. Like in 8th edition when you could buy Blood Angels or Dark Angels specific intercessor boxes. Few quid more and you get the chapter upgrade sprue in the box. Hopefully with the new Night Lords sprue in the kill team box we might start seeing other Chaos forces represented in upgrade sprues

Yeah totally agree. Tbh I really liked the 9th ed CP boxes because of the upgrade sprues in them. I still think we're a way off Chaos Legions outside of the main four.

@the_kieran_show yeah, would be nice to see some red corsairs focus. They are featured in a lot of the more recent books with guilliman, seems a waste to not use that hype.

Spartan as a land raider for sure, its also easier to find in stock ha Personally I'm less of a fan of the big abaddon terminator blob in favour of way more cheaper dudes, but yeah you can't really have black legion without him, I definitely think the chosen plan is better because you can slam a few more bodies in there. As a corsairs guy myself before the codex I've been messing around with the idea of heavy bolter havocs, sounds weird but it's a unit of 4 assault heavy bolters (and a plasma) so it's 12 shots with sustained and lethal (on pact), s5 ap-2 (at objective units) d2. Not tested yet because I have to build and paint the things but it sounds like a fun time.
